    Story I got is that back in the early days the fishing boat crews would drink there. Without cell phones and such, they'd be out of touch with friends on other boats for long periods. Custom became to leave money pinned to the wall with their friends name, to buy their friends a drink when they made it into port. Pretty neat custom if it is indeed true. :)
