    Seems pretty legit.

I think someone said the other day that they had some issues with getting rims that didn't fit right and having some issue with getting the returned/replaced.

But if you double check that the set up you want will fit...You'll be fine.

Funny you posted this. I requested a quote on a set of 17X9 MM 957's last night and he replied that he couldn't beat the lowest price I found.

    His reply:
"Hi, very sorry but after all those savings I would be paying you to take the wheels. Very sorry I cannot get you a better deal.
    Thanks,
    -Steve"

    Guess I'll keep looking.

If you have a Discount Tire around, they will match most deals. If not, it might be worth a few bucks more buying from them locally, especially if you have problems, their customer service is great!

are you saying Discount tire customer service is great? We have one in town but I don't think the can get Eagle Alloys. Thanks for the infor about return problems with mr. wheel.
Seem like whatever I buy, is never right the first time around. Mostly problems with defects.

Yes, I am saying their service is great.

IMO they bend over backwards for you. Even if you didn't buy your rims or tires from them (even if you have a new vehicle), they will still rotate, balance, & fix flats for free. If you are unsure if a tire will rub or not, they will put multiple tires on your rims so you can check it out (you may have to come during slow hours for this). They have locations all over so if you are traveling they can help. Unfortunatly I had to use them in SLC & Anahiem, but got great service:D

Ask them about those Eagle rims. Thet are very common & should be easy to get. Good LucK:)

I ordered a set of Nitto Terra Grappler (285/75 R16) tires and the XD Series Hoss Black wheels from Mr Wheel Deal today. I have been emailing back and forth with him and he seems like a good guy to me. I also got a great deal- paying just a little over $1000 for both wheels and tires.

I will keep everyone posted on how the deal goes.

    Good day Everyone,

This is my first posting and I just thought I'd share with you my experiences dealing with an online retailer by the name of Mr. Wheel Deal.

I'm sure many people on this forum have heard of him and are considering doing business with him.

I just placed an order with Steve (the owner) over at Mr. Wheel Deal. Yes they are a legitimate business, but there are a few things you have to be aware of. A good deal might not sound so good after you have to import them into your respective country/city.

    1) You will have to pay broker fees because they ship via UPS. It could cost you an extra $60 to $70 just for UPS to broker it in for you through customs. Of course you will also have to add the applicable sales taxes, duties, etc in your state/city...before all is said and done that can add up to over $100 extra. Mr. Wheel Deal will quote you a price for shipping only...the rest will be out of your pocket so no surprises when UPS gets to your door...you'll have to pay.

    2) Do your research and search at least a half dozen other places for the wheels/tires you want to find a lower price and see if Mr. Wheel Deal will match it before your purchase. You won't be able to make price adjustments after you place your order.

    3) If you decide to order from Mr. Wheel Deal you email him back and he will send you a link to a secured PayPal site to make the transaction. There's no actual payment on the website...all you do on the website is ask him to quote for you.

    4) Shipping is standard UPS so it will take up to 7 business days.

    5) Mr. Wheel Deal does not include installation kits like the Tire Rack. So you will also have to tack on an extra $34.99 if you need hardware for installation.

I ordered a set of Hyper Black Platinum Apex Wheels for my Mazda 3. I guess on the positive side, I got a nice set of unique wheels because all dealers out here in Vancouver, BC Canada don't carry this particular brand and style.

The downside is that I spent a little more than what I bargained for with tax, shipping, brokerage fees, duties. A quote for $519 for all 4 wheels and $168 for shipping only becomes a bottom line total of $886 after all is said and done when you factor everything else in.

Anyhow, good luck to everyone else who is shopping for new wheels.

    Richard.

It is not just his business that you would have had to pay border charges at. Anyone in Canada who buys from a dealer in USA that only has warehouses/shipments from the US will have these charges.
