40" no, I have that coming for Christmas :D that's my Christmas bonus, so I've been drawing up some designs on cardboard for brackets to go in the door jams for across the roof. New 22" single row with 10w chips....yes. The 4 outsides are 60 degree floods and the rest in the middle are 8 degree spots. 9700 lumen. Considerable gain over my lousy 6000 that I had before! Pictures to follow:)

Went out again today to Wiaparous to see what the snow situation was like out there. Not a bad day, pretty easy. I left really early to see what the new light bar was like. Wayyyyy better than the old one. Here are a bunch of pictures of the day. Went out with my buddy Spencer and his XJ

Just after the river crossing. Spencer unfortunately couldn't make it, and I didn't have any way to pull him across due to a lack of tow points.

I had to turn around here and venture back across the river

But not after some more pictures

So after turning around we decided to head to Margaret lake for the day

    Looks great!

Question, have any tips on welding the thin sheet metal? My first welding job I think I'm going to tackle the project myself.

I'm borrowing the cheap $100 dollar wire welder from harbor freight from a buddy of mine.

    Thanks,

Yea I do! Did you get that big long story I wrote in your build about using the hammer or something hard to press on the sheet metal while you weld it? That'll help a ton when you go to tack it in place. And when welding that thin stuff (how thin are you going)...tack the new piece first then move the stinger over to the body fairly quickly. Or else holes will develope :( lol might be hard with a cheap welder like that I'm not gonna lie. But if you do succeed with it and I'm positive you will. You will be....THE MAN!

Thanks for the tip. My other buddy that has a welder th at uses gas so I might just wait for him on friday. Was thinking about doing it myself but now that you said it may be hard with a cheap welder I have second thoughts. What's a few day of waiting? Just getting a little excited bro!

Yea, I would honestly wait man. It'll make your life so much easier. I know where your coming from when you say you can't wait haha. When your that close to being finished you just want it done. It's one of those things though, hard work pays off.... Spending the extra time fitting everything perfect and using a good welder will leave many people thinking you had a body shop or in my case....had a guy ask me if the truck came from Toyota like that haha. What gauge metal are you going to use?

Got it from lowes. Not sure the gauge. What did you use? Once this shits done I can think about regearing for the second time in a year!

Where did you relocate the wiper fluid box?

I think I used 18 gauge. (90% sure). Pretty thin shit, but it's easy to bed and cut, and once welded its plenty strong. I haven't relocated the wiper fluid box yet, I trimmed all the plastic around it, then tucked the wiring and hose up and out of the way. It only rubs once and a while when it's fully compressed. I have a pretty sweet idea for closing all that in though, which is going to include my fender liners...

    And it's not rubber matting:D

I bought the compressor at a local shop. It's mounted using the mounting plate they supply with the compressor. Just marked for the holes, drilled then bolted it down. Cut off the excess bolt sticking through the fender so it's nice and clean. Easy peasy. Comes with wiring loom, and switch. Everything you need. Minus the hose kit. That you have to buy separately at a tune of $40.00

Paul, go look at Jons build(45acp) before he cut it to pieces on how he did his relocate with PVC pipe. Silas did something similar too.

Just saw it. Pretty sweet with the pvc and the elbow. Fits in a tight location too. Got to add this to the list.
