I would say the most difficult part is compressing the spring to switch over your front shocks. I just took my entire shock assembly off, with the new front billies and took them to a shop in town. Had them compress the spring and switch the shocks over. It's pretty simple though. Remove and replace.

Safest and easiest way to do it. Of course I didn't do it that way though haha

I have done it before and it ran me $20 per side. Don't have to do anything with the lca but if you still have a sway bar take that loose and it will be 100x easier to put back together

Gotta start somewhere! Basically the shop will have a wall mounted spring compressor that will compress the spring and taking the tension off so that you can remove the isolator pad, top nut, washers, and rubber bushing from the strut. You can then pull the strut out of the spring and insert the new one and simply put the pad, washers, bushings, and top nut back on. Then you let the pressure off the spring so that the components on the shaft are retaining the spring. The wall mount spring compressor is a much much safer way to do it. I used these

but these are scary to use. They bend and have a tendancy to break and/or go flying.

Ha yeah scary as hell. I wrapped my struts in blankets and a comforter while I was on them with an impact gun

So if I have a shop do all that then it just a direct switch to put the other ones back in? Or do I need a compresser to put the springs back on the truck

Nope. Here's what you do haha. Jack truck up...remove front shock assembly. Coil and all. 3 nuts on the top and the 19mm (I think) bolt on the bottom. Take Both assemblies to a shop and tell them you want your springs switched over to your new billies. (You decide what notch to put them at obviously...) once they are switched over, throw your old front shocks in the dumpster, instal the new setup in reverse order from disassembly, take your truck down for an alignment. Go wheeling :)

Haha thanks man, r you happy with the stock coils? Is it a nicer ride compared to my stock setup with a spacer? I'm considering getting the ebicach but if I don't have to I'd rather. Not

Well...to be honest I love the ride. People flack me for keeping the stock coils and running billies, but I'm happy with it. I don't jump the truck, I'm not hard on equipment, and it performs how it should on the trail. The "right" way to do it would be eibach coils as well, but until my billies start pissing oil everywhere, I'm not going to switch. Once I do, I'll be going to a coilover. Most likely King or Fox.

Ya that's what I'm thinking by the time these billies are shot I might be in a position to afford a mid travel system
