Can't wait! Are you going to just bedline over it? Or try and paint?

I think for now (for the Moab trip) I'll matte black 3M the sides where the grinding/welds and filler are. Then after when I have more time I'll ripe out the bed liner and do actual rubber bedliner in the bed and re paint the box red.

You know how much I love this truck so I am going to be honest. This cutting thing scares me a little, however here is hoping it works out and I am sure it will :proposetoast:

When are you heading down to Moab and are heading down with anyone else?

Haha don't worry Dave! It'll come out looking just like it does now only 11" shorter haha. Im tired of the shitty departure angles. That part of the box would get destroyed in Moab if I left it.

Plus...I don't think you've seen the truck in quite some time! The passenger side is.....rough lets just say lol. It's seen a few rocks and a couple trees. But...it all just adds character;)

I'm heading to Moab on the 12th of April for 8 days with my roommate! He has a 2011 rubicon

Ahhhhhh shit!!! Good luck man!!! What kind of bumper are you thinking of? Maybe look into a tire gate style so you have a place for the spare ?

It's kind of hard to say this without sounding like a dick, but the tire issue has been discussed and resolved within the last 10 posts. I will be building a bed rack like box rocket to get the tire out of the bed. As well as high lift and shovel.

Besides...I'm really not a fan of those tire carriers. I think the only time they look good is on a 1000hp trophy rig doing 900mph through the desert.

As for the bumper I have tossed around a few ideas in my head...

    Stay tuned

I know you decided to do a rack I was just throwing the tire carrier idea out there. Rack will look good though.

You are right I have not see the truck in some time. That is something we will have to remedy. I am busy until the end of April and obviously you have a trip in April so we may to get together for some oat sodas upon your return. That way I can see all the pictures from the trip and hear about it as well:D

Sounds like you will have a blast so looking forward to hearing about it. Have fun and be safe. Cheers.
