Easiest way to do it...have someone holding the door open and ready with a fire extinguisher. Cover all the electrical wires with a damp rag, and make small cuts. More less plunge cuts. And get the thinnest cut off wheels you can. Once you have everything cut out, and cleaned up with the flap disk, take a hand full of grease and cover the edge of the cut. Then press your cardboard cut out up next to it. Walla! You have the imprint of the cut on your cardboard. Take it to your piece of sheet metal and add half inch to the template for welding surface. It's a lot of running back and forth fitting stuff. But once your done fitting the welding portion goes very quick.

Once it's all tacked up and pressed tight, finish welding it out. Weld the drilled holes first, then go around the perimeter. Make sure you switch locations frequently to keep the heat down. (I would imagine this isn't your first time welding if your thinking of tackling a job like this)...

After it's all welded out, go to town with the silicon on the inside of the cab. The cut out sheet metal isn't going to look pretty, and the piece you put back in for the tubbing isn't going to fit that great on the inside. I just covered all the joints on the inside of the cab with silicon. Just to make sure :)

That I don't. Mostly because it was pitch black when I had everything put back together. If I get some free time this weekend I will pop the kick panel off and pull everything out of the way and take a picture.

    Sorry!

Order from discount tire direct. Their awesome! I wish I would have bought every other set of tires from them. I called fountain tire in high river and they wanted $1911 for 4! WTF!!! Not to mention not a single fountain tire in Alberta has 1 tire. I called up discount tire and within 20 minutes I had 4 315/75/16 Kevlars on my way. Took 5 days...and cost $1548 to my door. Awesome service to!

Forgot to add...I got rid of the TJM compressor and put in the ARB High Output. Wayyy better haha. Pumps up the 35 in about 1:45. Plus I'll be eventually running an air locker in the front. That the next major purchase:)

Hey what's your opinion about those M.O.L.L.E seat covers? I was debating buying those but have heard mixed reviews about them and didn't really want to pay that much for them

These are the smittybilt ones for the 07-present JK's. Now if these and the Molle ones are the same I don't know? I love them though. They fit just fine in the truck....just have to snug up the straps that's all. The pockets are a must. I keep a knife, spare radio, batteries and a lighter in the top black one. Winch remote and a roll of toilet paper in the bottom one. Next to that I have a small first aid kit where the hose hangs. On the bottom part of the seat next to my left leg I keep my deflators

I'd buy them again! I build custom homes for a living, so they see everything from carharts to mud to the odd coffee spillage haha.

Did you get them shipped across the border? Was it still worth it after all the duties?
Ive been looking at discounttiredirect for a couple weeks now. Trying to find a good tire for this winter and next summer. Whats your thoughts on the Duratracs? I probably get a lot more snow than you so im wondering if they will serve me well

Discounttiredirect ships for free in the US. To ship a set of tires to Canada, they charge something like $200 for duty

^yes. Thanks for clarifying that. $1548 is shipped to my door step up here in polar bear land. So they went across the border. That doesn't include mounting and balancing. That was another $150. Discount tire direct charges a flat rate of $240 to get them across the border.

A buddy of mine bought the exact same tire and size as myself and definitely didn't pay 1200 for 4. He paid close to what I paid. I think a bit more actually.

What about durability? I heard that's where they were lacking it. How long have you had those and how are they holding up?
