Maybe a head start on the build, but not documenting it. I'm way behind in that aspect. :)

Awesome build! Any profile shots of how far the rear wheels stick out from the fenders? I'm looking to run a spring under with shock relocate and interested to see how far they're going to stick out.

Sounds like a silly question but is that color Red or the Barcelona Red? I'm selling my Two trucks and buying a Tacoma my wife and I can use together and we love the color of your truck and of course the amazing build. That's a dream truck!

I don't have too many good shots showing how far the tires stick out in the rear, but here is a crappy one that kinda gives you an idea. I have 1.75" spacers in the back to clear my shocks at full flex.

Awesome it's so great to see pictures of it in all different light looks great. I think 2017 had two different reds for 2018 we are trying decide between Barcelona Red and burnt orange. Would love TRD but SR5 more in our price range will have to build from there.

Well I fully intended on trying to post all my mods in order to catch up on the build, but figured I would throw in this update from Easter Sunday....

    20180401_153447.jpg

My Easter Sunday.... I was in the Bay Area, CA to visit my family. I was on my way to my brothers house for brunch while going down a hill in 3rd gear at 35mph my engine decided to completely shut down, lost power steering, power brakes. My instrument cluster had all sorts of warnings flashing at my, the stereo was still on. I was able to coast down the hill and pull off on a side street. While coasting my husband tried to restart the truck, we tried to bump start it (manual) and nothing. Once totally stopped we removed the key completely, stuck it back in and it fired up like nothing had happened. Made a mental note to call Toyota once back in Reno.

Fast forward 5ish hours....we are heading back to Reno since we have to be at work on Monday. Decided to hit starbucks on the way out of town. Pull out of starbucks (husbands driving now) and get this weird clunk (not the bad shifting kind of clunk, just a weird wtf is my truck doing clunk). At this point I remember, crap I forgot my AAA card at my parents house so we decide to turn around. A couple minutes later we get to our right hand turn to head back and as we are turning the engine turns off mid turn, loss of power steering, power brakes...all the same warnings as before. Now the one big difference this time is the truck would not start back up. We tried everything we could think of. So here my new truck with 7k miles has left us stranded on the side of the road on Easter.

At this point I had the truck towed to my parents house since all the dealers were closed. I then got it towed Monday morning to the nearest dealer at the time. Around 1pm they called me to tell me the truck is fixed and running again. The cause??? They are trying to blame it on my Switch pro. Baffled we called Switch Pro and went through how everything is wired and they confirmed like we suspected that this is not what caused the issue. The dealer also disconnected my winch which goes right to the battery.

I must add that this did actually happen once before, before I had any of my accessories wired into the truck. I thought it was a weird glitch at the time since it happened when I was pulling into a gas station and fired back up as normal.

Anyways I have spoken with several different Toyota Techs through my IG and it seems everyones suspicion goes back to the ECU.

    I will post the codes my truck threw up here: U0233, C1AED, C1408, U0151, C1622, U0100, C2124, U0101, C2121, C2123.

At this point it seems it is only a matter of time until the truck does it again and leaves me on the side of the road.....my plan as of now is to wait until it happens again, if it happens again I will take it to my local dealer. OR when I hit 10k I will take it in for it's 10k service and have them do a more thorough look.

The dealer who I brought it to before did say they didn't look any further into it because once my accessories were disconnected it stopped shutting down and ran fine for them. They did say there could be an underlying ECU issue in their notes, but neglected to mention that to me.

I still love this truck and really hope to figure out the issue sooner or later so please spare me from the you shouldn't have gotten a 3rd gen comments.

Sick rig, sucks about the issue. Could it be a grounding issue??? Maybe the big 3 upgrade would help

I had the same issue with my 2016 sport 2wd I got Nov 2016... happened 3 times where I was driving and the truck just turned off. They told me it was the crankshaft sensor so it was replaced then it happened again...I hit up Toyota, they send out there people to the dealer but had no answers. It was a lemon so they purchased it back...I was leasing and got paid for 13 months in February. :burnrubber:
    Now I'm still on a taco, 17 dclb 4wd

Sick truck tho :fistbump:hope it's nothing serious
