Excellent! I'd like it to say "Fuck you Toyota Accumulator, you're not the Boss of ME!"

Just drove a friend's '17 TRD OR M/T, and found it to be smooth.... but this accumulator issue was on my mind the whole drive. I'm thinking of getting a '18 or '19 M/T Taco. Learned to drive M/T in the mid 1970s, and really want to get back into one. The 3rd Gen slush box is not impressing me, even with OVtunes recent advancements.

It is on my mind every time I shift also! Like when I can I do it again, and again. :burnrubber:

With the TSB ECU update and the accumulator delete, the Taco has gone from fun to drive to competing with the bike. There will never be anything like carving corners on 2wheels with a torquey motor to make you feel like a hero from the apex and out, but for everyday commuting, I am finally happy on 4wheels for the first time in since I started riding. About 125,000mi since 2006 with 80% of it doing a 10mi commute.

Looks like the fittings on the accumulater are M10 x 1.0 inverted flare. I found these on a quick search, so it's as simple as making a cross drilled block of (brass?) with 1/8" NPT threads to accept the above linked adapter. The accumulator housing is actually cast aluminum, so we could also just use 6061-T651 (I even have material laying around that can work).

This certainly seems like the simplest way, and simple usually means cheaper.

Well that's pretty freaking sweet! I would not have guessed that was cast AL. I was assuming plated cast steel. 6061 with those fittings sounds like a winner.

Those should use a wrench larger than 10mm so that should make installation easier.

    Down on the ground, bitches!

It'll definitely be a cool mod. I suppose the only reason to go with me is just to have something with mounting holes. You could get a 1/8" NPT female/female elbow and just wrench those adapters in with teflon tape. I could even just make some sort of clamp bar for a universal part. *shrugs*

Put me down on the list for one

Toyota has been putting these "dampers" on their manual cars for a long time, I installed an aftermarket damper delete on my manual Lexus IS300. Even the throttle had a spring damper on it, solved that real quick with a shock spacer clip from a r/c car.
