Reminds me of college and all the silly "art" students. I loved the exhibitions. They'd get catered food and free beer. Made for a cheap Friday night out. When is opening night? I'll be there.

Ok gents I got under the rig today to take a peek at the accumulator and there a lot less room than y’all’s pictures make it seem. I removed the heat shield and got a good look at things and immediately started having second thoughts on tackling this project. I’m mechanically inclined enough to be dangerous but with the front driveshaft sitting in the middle of things I’m afraid I’ll be struggling to get my digits around everything. Anyone remove the front driveshaft just for more room while working? I found the Napa equivalent part numbers for the line and union and I’m trying to muster up the confidence to go further.

I’ve taken a few drives without the heat shield on and sure enough the metallic clank sound I’d get every once in a while is gone. Has anyone left the shield off after doing the adm or should I put it back on?

Thanks in advance for any input

The only thing I removed was the heat shield. It really wasn’t that bad, just lots of small turns.

Did you replace the heat shield when you were done or did you leave it off?

I never bothered to put it back on. I suppose you could remove the drive shaft if you wanted to. I don't think it's really necessary. Removing the exhaust bracket is a must though.

Yes I found that out today trying to remove the shield. I put the exhaust bracket back on but didn’t bother with the heat shield

At least one removed the driveshaft. I think he used a lift too.

I was very intimidated by this as well. Had never bled a clutch before this.

we are here for you if you get in trouble. Lots of guys with collective experience to trump most mechanics. If you have access to another car or a bike or nowhere to go, the risk is low.

So I used the Honda S2000 line and the SOB has started leaking after driving. I’m half tempted to put the accumulator back on and be done with this headache. Is the break line a harder option for install?

If you don't have your old one, I would bet someone here could help you out?

I have the old accumulator, might try the copper line method. Just apprehensive about bleeding the clutch (never done it. Had my brother do the first round of bleeding with the Honda line)

I was apprehensive as well. Especially when my bff from college expressed doubt about my ability to pull it off. It wasn't that bad, mostly just a bunch of burpees on concrete with a little barrel roll at the bottom. I followed @Trident904 's instructions and did my typical excessiveness for a full 18 rounds of boxing and I think it's good. Of course nobody drives the truck but me so maybe it's a total squishfest and I completely screwed it up? :)

College buddies really know how to twist your tits in a special way

-did you bleed the clutch by yourself?

-what clutch line route did you go with?
