Surprisingly, it came off the '16 fairly easily.. which is crazy considering the salt they put down in my area in winter lol.
The '19 didn't have time to rust, first mod I did to it besides a bed mat.

About to perform as my first mod on a supercharged 12' I've only put 1,000 miles on. Can't wait to feel the improvement in the shifting of this truck. Right now the 95,83 and 81 shift better.

Okay, so I did the Accumulator "Defeat" mod today - didn't delete it.
    upload_2021-5-31_19-58-5.jpg

So, I was really unsure about doing this mod, but due to construction, I've had to take a new route out of the neighborhood, one that required quite a few uphill starts. I've been driving manuals since 1991 and I've never had so many problems with uphill starts, so I decided to give this a try.

First, the difference is not HUGE or Monumental, or anything like that. But the clutch does feel more "normal"

Maybe, I'm less excited because I don't fully trust my bleed job because the clutch movement is also a whole lot lighter.

However, the friction zone is about 1/3rd of the way off the floor (it was at 8/9ths off the floor before), and it stays there. It doesn't move around in different situations, so uphill starts are absolutely way more consistent, and even just normal day-to-day shifts are easier to get perfectly smooth.

So, was it worth the two-hour investment? If you deal with uphill starts, absolutely. If you have nothing better to do. Sure, why not. But I don't think it's as dramatic of an improvement as it's implied to be. I think if you are experienced with a clutch, you know how to be adaptable, so the accumulator, while a stupid unnecessary widget, wasn't that intrusive.

Yeah. You got more bleeding to do. Weight and engagement point should be the same.

Some, like @TeecoTaco , will say that the air may bleed out under normal driving.

I do wish the engage point was more toward the middle of the travel, but we don't have a setup that allows that adjustment. I bet a 1mm smaller M/C would do that.

In the end, natural feel is what it is all about. The accumulator did not give me that, so I am thankful for the mod.

Okay, I need to amend my previous opinion. After a week of driving with the Accumulator Defeat, It is absolutely better in every way, and completely worth the two hour investment. Shifting is way more precise, uphill starts are much easier, and downshifts on a steep uphill are way easier to do smoothly. Bonus, when I hop into my wife's car (also an MT) I no longer struggle adapting to how hers shifts because both cars basically behave the same way now.

Read every single page...will be doing the hard line this weekend. Thanks to everyone for all the "leg" work done in this thread. I did not notice this so much in my 2nd gen but it is bothering me as I am trying to get my 3G to act behave like my 2G.

    You're welcome!

With the ADM and a vF tune, you'll be able to start forgetting the 2nd Gen.

I really hope this gets rid of the lag in 1st, if you don't do it correctly. I can almost replicate this as we have a ton of round abouts in town. Obviously you slow down (almost complete stop) to make sure you have the right of way and then punch the gas when the vehicles exits before you. That lag is kinda scary as you punch the gas you can almost count to 3 before any accelerating happens.

Since there is quite a bit of BS in this thread, I been wanting to ask you...Do these tunes work better on ethanol gas or am I just special? I was really frustrated with this truck shortly after the tune that I ordered the Crank Position Sensor and swapped it in. However right before I swapped I had to get some gas and could only get ethanol gas. Seemed to pep up right as I was getting ready to do the sensor. Everything was back to normal. I am running non ethanol now and it seems a bit sluggish. Only got a 1/4 tank left and will throw some ethanol in there next and see if she comes back to life??

Sorry, but that is not the ADM. It only helps get direct clutch engagement. The vF Tune is the solution for the dead pedal.
