MT Accumulator Delete Mod (ADM) and BS Thread

I believe it can only be purchased as a complete unit with the accumulator. It used to be a little over $100 a few years back.

 

Keeping mine as a spare.

Thanks Tony! Maybe could include part number 3149035100 in the original post for folks to tackle with the dremmel so they can just swap out?

The hardline is cheap and was much easier to bend than I expected. If I get board, I may mill my accumulator and swap back just because. But at 90 cheaper for the hardline, I would have a really hard time justifying buying a second accumulator.

That said, the hardline is not as clean as milling the accumulator, mine makes it a little hard to get to the slave bleed nipple.

I've got an unmodified take-off accumulator (10k mi) free to anyone wanting to hack on one without removing theirs first -- with the caveat that your take-off is then free for the next person down the line.

It would make the most sense to bulk mill clean takeoffs first. I've spoked to Zak's buddy and he's game but I think to be respectful and worthwhile we should get a group of 20 of us to all agree to send ours to him with a $20 bill and a return shipping label pre-printed.

I’ll give my used accumulator away for free to anyone who wants to use it afterwards.

I have access to a mill at work, and a little bit of skill with it. Has anyone detailed the milling process? I could get in on this and even help some others out if it's relatively straight forward process.

 

Thanks much! I might look to see if I can rig up something on my lathe to cut a slot, if so I might be able to mod mine before it goes out the door.

 

I would think it is. From the looks of it one or two passes with a ball nose would be good enough. Should be super easy to drop in a vice and center off the hole, then just drop, pass, drop, back and you are done

 

Exactly. And, were playing with aluminum here. Easy peasy.

 

For those modifying the stock accumulator are you putting anything behind the round plate to keep it from flexing?
