Looks that way. I just know for a fact my Dremel work would look like a preschooler did it. Not good for my OCD. o_O Lots of guys raving about how much better the truck drives with this mod, feel like I'm missing out the longer I put it off.

I can send you mine if you send me yours back once you swap?

I've got a brand new one that I bought and was holding onto it to have milled without having to take the current one out of the truck until it was time for the swap. Before I inconvenience anyone, I will see about maybe building a jig that would work with the dremel to keep the cuts straight and consistent. If I come up with something that's useful, I will offer it up to anyone else who wants to give it a shot.

if he isn’t interested I would be. My buddy is ready to but mine for me but it would be much easier to have it cut before hand and then just swap over.

We have a mill at the office if you got one off the truck.

But, yeah. When I dremel'ed the one that @Shellshock sent me, it wasn't as purdy as the ones shown in the 1st Post.

Does anyone have a part number for this and approximate cost? It may be worth it to buy one to work on and not lay up the truck

It shouldn't talk more than 1hr for the dremel method on a cold motor without using ramps or a jack.

That's what I ended up doing, because everything takes me 2-3x longer than it should.

milled and back together for install tomorrow (maybe). I will have my stock off the truck and can have it milled to send to someone else if wanted or can send it to start the list of modded accumulators.

If you don’t have access/skill to use a mill, there are options - you can drill a series of holes the correct depth and diameter, that just touch each other (this is a more controlled method of removing material at a depth) then finish the remaining material with the Dremel. Take lite, small cuts to reduce the chance of the cutter “running” on you. You should also make the Dremel cuts so if it does run, it does not damage a critical surface. The faster RPM you run the Dremel, the less chance it will bite and run, keep the cutter flutes clean with WD-40 or cutting oil. If you still don’t trust yourself, you can add layers of tape where you don’t want to remove material. I would suggest you wear gloves - that cutter will remove just about anything you push it against. Try it on a piece of scrap, try something new, you might just impress yourself!

I don’t want to step on anyones toes in here, I have been contacted after posting my milled accumulator by a few other members to have it done. I talked to my buddy and he is willing to do a batch of 5-10.

Does anyone have a accumulator uninstalled that is looking to have milled? I’d like to make a offer for 5 people that if you send me yours I’ll have them milled and send them back at no cost so long I can have the one you take off.

If @tonered or @daveeasa has any input on this idea I’m all ears.

Yeah, I have a list of interested people linked in my signature. I wanted to get to 20 to honor the guy we had lined up to mill. If you are willing to brew a small batch I will send you mine and we can solicit the others. Maybe a DM thread for your ship to address.
