I've been expecting this exact outcome all along since the 3g bypass was first discussed. i don't mind light if the feel is there, but if i have a choice (and i do) I'll opt for a heavier firmer feel. just got a long list right now with 2 vehicles, so I'll run this clutch down a bit. URD is definitely in my future as well. already have his Y pipe and SS kit, good stuff.

After the first drive it feels 1000x better. I can finally work on getting the muscle memory down. I think I can get used to the lighter pedal. This along with ovtune and my heavier shift knob made a huge improvement.

As others said, mine had the same weight before and after. It might not be a bad idea to try bleeding it after some more miles?

Also, my engage point didn't change either. If your moved further out on the stroke, then air might still be in there?

You can crack the fitting at the master, but that is going to be a messy PITA. This works killer on motorcycles though.

The 3rd Gen clutch is a bit light. More weight would be nice, but then DD'ing in traffic would require me to actually exercise.

I also wonder what the flex line section is made of. If it is rubber, braided steel might be an improvement.

I would highly recommend properly adjusting your clutch free travel after this mod. I did on mine after a couple thousand miles and it does make a difference.

Also on bleeding the air if you can fill the resivoir then allow it to gravity bleed for a while then close the bleed screw. Top off the resivoir with fluid. After that crawl under physically push the slave cylinder rod all the way in and let it relax back to its neutral position this will force any air trapped in the “float” area of the slave cylinder towards the master cylinder. Do this 2-3 times there is not much float travel so don’t go crazy trying to force it in. Then gravity bleed the system again while keeping the resivoir full.

What's the correct procedure for adjusting the free travel?

It is in the Service Manual that gets shared around these parts.

Not at the moment. Just search "service manual" across the 3rd Gen section. You might have to look at a few threads as the host and download link has changed over time.

I got mine too. Now its tbe waiting game for my clutch pedal to start creaking again. I had an appointment yesterday and had to cancel it because of course on the day its due to get fixed finally, it miraculously stops doing the thing.

Ha. Sweet avatars fellas. My part came today as well. Not sure when I’ll have time to get it installed but it won’t be long. Need a nice shift knob as well.
