Interesting. I bought a Class III hitch for ours and it attaches to a strong section of the subframe. We only have a bike carrier and an old folding 4x8 trailer for now.

Let me guess, you bought it for the standard sized 2" receiver? LOL!

Yup! But for even stupider reasons. Way back before we had smartphones or receivers on any of our cars, we saw a nice Thule hitch mount rack at a yard sale. Knowing nothing, we asked the seller if Class II hitches were 1.25in or 2in. All that they knew was that it fit their traded Explorer and it was a base model, so they assumed it was a Class II.

I quickly found the right answer after we bought it. I thought a little bit about getting the OEM hitch and a 1.25 to 2.0 adapter. Instead, we just had a local shop fab up some friggin' stout Class II hitches with 2.0in receivers. When the Forester came along, we just grabbed a Curt Class III hitch for not much money.

Given how overloaded I have been with the trailer that we got later, I was happy to have the custom builds on the cars.

    Makes sense.

Don't ever get the adapter, they suck. Plus, they make the rack so much less stable. Talk about wobbles!

That was what I saw when looking briefly. I was annoyed enough with the wobbles when I punched out the welded nut to use a locking pin. A bit of duct tape as a shim fixed that though.

LOL! Duct tape is usually the answer.

I find myself randomly quoting Red Green quite often and get some very strange looks.

Also, I finished up early in KS and grabbed a flight home this morning thankfully. I'm stupidly going to go in to work tomorrow and Friday, but I'll be test fitting the flex line I got this weekend for sure.

He is part of the Canadian lexicon. Quite surprised anyone outside Canada would recognize him let alone a quote lol

Where does he fit between Canadian bacon (I suppose it is just bacon to you?), maple syrup, blended whisky, and Tim Hortons?

And, WTF do you call our bacon?

Your bacon, we call bacon. "Canadian" bacon, we call peameal bacon...or back bacon.

Tim Horton was a iconic hockey player, died in his corvette returning from Buffalo after a game. He started a donut shop with Ron Joyce (who just died this week btw) that turned into a very big franchise opportunity. The Tim Horton company was sold to Burger King chain not too long ago, so it's American now.

Blended whiskey? Pfft. Canadian whiskey is typically Rye whiskey. We just call it Rye (want some fun, go to your local pub and ask for a rye and coke, then quote red green lol)

Where does Red (Steve Smith) Green fit? Well, I'd put him right up there with Commander Tom (obscure Buffalo reference)

I am from the near-to great white north of NY, and I went to school in Rochester. I grew up watching Red Green. But yes, the show was(is?) very geographically specific. LOL!

Nothing fits between Whiskey and Bacon. If only you could get both at Timmy Ho's! I feel like bacon is a universal language for cured smoked pork belly. Canadian bacon is just as delicious but definitely not the same thing in my book.

Interesting, I did not know TH was bought by BK.

I'm partial to Rye and Ginger. Not too fond of Coke anymore. Too sweet syrupy for me.

Lol, sorry. I know OF him, but don't have any recollection of actually watching the show. I couldn't even form sentences when the show ended.

    I'm feeling this.

I've actually heard of back bacon before.

On a Canadian tour a couple years ago we wanted to hit a Tim Hortons, but missed the opportunities for various reasons. Some were very dumb.

The whiskys that I had that were labeled Canadian didn't taste like rye. I am definitely a bourbon fan though.

Commander Tom sounds familiar. I need to do some goggling.

I'm originally from western PA. I never made to Canada or the Atlantic. It was an odd childhood.

    Universal language of smellin' goood!

So, you've never had crown royal? Lol

Western PA? I grew up right across the lake from you on Long Point. That big sandbar that sticks out into lake Erie on the map. Every night on the news (Commander Tom) Tom Jolls was the weather man, there was always a fire in Cheektowaga or near by . Was a staple

I always thought it would be amazing if the 'real' Top Gear somehow crossed with Red Green...
I probably would have laughed so hard I would have literally died... How Red Green got to be on PBS in Florida I will never know, but no complaining here.

This might get me banned, but I'm not a big fan of Crown Royal. It's okay. I stick to Evan Williams on the low rent side, local bourbons, or a rare single malt treat.

Here's another funny. I was never up to Erie or the Falls. Go figure. I'm from Portage, near Johnstown and Altoona.
