    Nice.

It is killer that spirits are going craft just like beer did with a bit of deregulation. I am enjoying that.

I have avoided the whisky threads.

We have a guy making a gin locally that twickles my toes. Halcyon Gin by Blue Water. There's a killer rum place just down the road. And, a lot of the whisky companies are making lightly distilled vodkas. All just rockin'!

Today's the day friends! I've got the exhaust bracket and heat shield off. My flex line will definitely work, but it can actually be about 2" shorter and it would be perfect. I'm going to take the time to fab up a bracket this afternoon and I am going to be painting it, so final install won't be until tomorrow since I can't put the bracket on once the hose is installed. I'm not going to disconnect all the hydraulic lines and leave them overnight.

Finally got around to doing mine today. I bought the flexible line darkyota33 showed on here from paragon performance, it worked but the two 90 degree fittings isn't needed, just the female end needs to be a 90 and the male end can be a straight fitting. With the two 90's on the line, it puts it in a weird S shape and it covers the rear most hole for the cover as shown in the first photo below. The second photo shows how it would be if it had a straight male fitting.

I didnt like how the flexible hose fitted but it was 100% functional, and definitely needs to be held down cause it is pretty floppy just dangling there. I ended up bending some hard line and using the male to male adapter using the accumulator as a guide on the bench.

If anyone wants to use this hose instead of hard line, I paid $33 shipped to my house, Ill ship it to you for $20.

I also bought two hard lines in case I messed up, I didnt and ended up bending the other line for no reason. Its reasonably lined up but some fitting is required. PM me if you want it for free, just come pick it up in SoCal or pay the shipping ~$5.

It was me that originally posted the flex line from paragon with the disclaimer that I wasn't sure on the length. I found today that it needs to be about 1.5"-2" shorter to be perfect. It also won't really work if you don't use a bracket on the female end to keep it in place.

Im finishing the install on mine tomorrow and I will post a drawing of the bracket I made if anyone wants to make one. If there is enough interest I can get a batch of them made up.

I wanted to, but the fam didn't. They sucked me down to their level. So, I watched Season 3 of The Expanse.

It was nasty all last week, and the Taco made it pretty boring. I did miss the Ural a wee bit since it was a hoot in the snow.

We are heading out today. That'll be fun, as will be camping next weekend.

So, I got the flex line installed, but as @squarenone mentioned, it is too long. I think it would be OK if it was ~2" shorter, but it would make installation more difficult than necessary. I agree that having a straight fitting on the male end would probably work better. I did not get any pictures, but the hose I got will end up interfering with the upper rear heat shield bolt. I am going to bend a coat hanger to get the length correct and re-order with a straight end.

Other than that the install wasn't too bad. I messed around with the exhaust hanger bolt for a bit and then just got out the impact gun and zipped it off. I plan on putting a bunch of never-seez on it in case I need to take it off again. I only use the truck occasionally now, so I am holding off on re-assembling everything until I get the replacement hose.

I grabbed these to pinch off the line to the master cylinder and they worked well. image_16750.jpg
Bleeding was simple. I put a hose on the bleeder, topped off the reservoir, removed the clamp, and opened up the bleeder. I let it drip for 5-10 min and then closed it off. I employed the help of my better half to make sure it was completely free of air. I had her 1/2 press the clutch while I cracked the bleeder and closed it. We did have to pull the pedal up off the floor and did this 5-10 times. It was probably good after 2, but I had overfilled the reservoir and needed to remove some fluid anyway.

Test drive: HOLY SHIT I HAVE A CLUTCH THAT WORKS! All the issues I had with the 1-2 shift are completely gone. I can downshift and rev match in 1st and 2nd now too! :bananadance:

Accumulator = Trash (And that's where it is going unless someone want's it for some reason)

Here is a picture of the crappy bracket I made out of 2" angle iron with a drill press and an angle grinder. I painted it with truck bed liner yesterday before installing. For those of you paying attention, yes the hole on the right is off.... Luckily I realized it before I painted it. I didn't measure twice before cutting. :frusty: When I get the new hose installed I'll post the updated drawing along with a few pictures if I can get better ones than I did today.

I’m still on the fence about doing this mod too. Mostly because it’s freezing out and I’ve been so lazy on my time off. I’ll get to it eventually too.

    I don’t doubt that.

My wife’s car has a crappy accumulator, my previous beater had an accumulator. My truck has an accumulator. But, my GC does not. It’s heaven!
