I would also recommend against it. The flex lines are more trouble than they are worth IMHO. I had two different custom ones made and didn't like the fit of either.

Just go with the hard line. It's not that difficult.

Dood, last week I had the great pleasure of EWR - JFK - LGA - YYZ all in 12 hrs...gotta be some kind of torture record I'm sure.

Finally did this. I always struggle to get hardlines to seat properly and not leak and this time was no different. Had to reflare the line a couple times , was a bit of a fiasco. And if the line is completely empty it takes quite a bit of bleeding to get everything right again. It will look like its fully bled and then all of the sudden you'll get some bubbles.

However, I think it makes a noticeable difference. Downshifting and pulling away from a stop are both smoother. It almost feels like there is a larger friction zone.

It's always a good day when YYZ appears on our luggage tags...

Despite reading 192 pages on the subject, I'm still a mild bit unsure here... its essentially plug and play (with clutch bleed) for ADM option #6 (IE, the @Trident904) ? Keep seeing mentions of flaring various things, but what I am NOT seeing in consistency with the posts. Want to get all of my ducks in a row before I go ahead and break something :anonymous:

I believe the inconsistency you may be seeing is due to a couple different approaches that have been used.
The @Trident904 kit is plug and play.
The dremel mod requires no new components or flares. But you will be modifying and re-installing the accumulator
You can use plain un-terminated brake line. This will require bends and flares and fittings. You need to measure and cut and flare.
There is also a method to buy pre-terminated brake line and an adaptor, but you will need to make sure you get proper line/fitting combo to mate with the Toyota fittings. You will have to make the bends yourself in this method.

This is where I started a while back, before life caught up to me. The bends wont be a problem. Thanks for the info.

Just FYI, if you are getting the parts yourself, I highly recommend getting a sleeved fitting for the line section that goes into the release cylinder.

I updated to OP to add some discussion about the differences between the Toyota Sleeved Flare Fittings and the the fittings that generally come on the pre-fab lines.

Finally did this mod after having the kit from trident for over 3mnths. Noticeable improvement to clutch feel, no more hesitation with clutch engagement. Kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Installation is a pain tho, just getting the bolts out was kicking my ass.

Thanks to fellow TW MT members and to @Trident904 for the kit.
