The square is the heat shield that you need to pull that is on the other side of the shaft.

To reach the upper bolt on the shield and get room to work, pull the cat support (blue arrow). There are two more bolts up higher and are infinitely easier than the upper shield bolt.

Box end wrench. The ratcheting kind are even better.

Getting those out are wayy easier that the top shield bolt. Typically, it was the bolt on the cat flange that stopped folks from getting the cat support out.

If you can, link up two box ends for leverage.

    051.jpg

It can be done with the cat support in place, but there would not have been enough room for the line wrenches on the upper fitting and my hands.

It's really easy if you hire a midget to do the work. Their hands were made for this job.

I think all the MT Taco folks have big hands. No need to compensate.

I made damn sure I married a woman with small hands. Makes her think I'm bigger than I am and makes me feel better about myself.

    That certainly helps.

How much should be coming out at the fitting where the adm connect to the slave?

Disconnected with a clamp on the feed line off the reservoir? A little drip is good. It keeps the air bubbles from rising up the line.

Connected and finished? None. A leak is no bueno.

It was coming out pretty good, more than a drop when first loosening, so i panicked and tightened it back up.

mhmm what exactly are you using to clamp? I’m using a pair of locking pliers but it doesn’t seem to completely seal...I’m losing a lot when loosening. Poop.

Just a hemostat. Not enough to crush the line.

There were some other cool clamps posted in here that were not jumping out at me.

    Here they are:

I used a couple of pieces of PVC pipe over the tips of some needle nose locking pliers.
I guess you could use some rubber hose over them too. I just wanted to make sure I could lock tight enough to stop the fluid, but didn't want to compromise the hose I was trying to clamp.
