If your clutch is not laying on the floor, then start it up. If the engagement point is messed up, you'll know that you got air in there.

It’s all good. Definitely worth it even with all the headaches encountered

Glad to hear you're good. Also glad you can take some crap. We're all a well meaning bunch here. We dole it out equally, you just happen to be singled out today!

I got 99% of the way there by just gravity bleeding. It only took a few normal bleeding pumps with my wife working the clutch to get it right.

I’m still convinced gravity bleeding is a myth

:notsure: Seemed to work for me. It definitely doesn't get all the air out, but it certainly seemed to make the normal bleeding procedure faster/easier. Maybe I just didn't lose as much fluid as I expected? I also left the bleeder on the slave open for at least 10 minutes and had to top off the reservoir several times.

One of the things I noticed is normal bleeding seems like it works better if you *don't* let the line pressure go all the way to zero when you have the bleeder cracked. Crack open for 1-2s and close it, reset the pedal, repeat until there is no hesitation in the pedal. At least that's what I found anyway.

Is there an "official" Toyota procedure for this? Is it any different that the one we all know and love?

Quick drive and I'm pretty happy with the delete, even if it took most of the day, gave me a nice lump on the forehead, fucked up my manicure, and gave me an ouchie on my primary baitin' hand. Shifts definitely engage quicker, so instead of a eeeyyuu, shift, eeeyuhh, shift, eeyuhh kind of delay, it's now just yyuuu, shift, yyuhhh, shift, yuhhh. Less vowels is always a good thing. I'm looking forward to racing for pinks with you guys who posted recently with the underglows on your trucks.

Thanks to everyone for your help, and an even BIGGER thanks for those of you who will shit on my chest in the upcoming months.

Fwiw, that top exhaust bracket bolt had me cursing too. I did the box end sex thing to make it work.
    Normal clutch FTW

I overtightened the top bolt intentionally just so I can make the box ends scissor when I have to fix whatever I surely didn't do right :)

Think those bolts were a bitch? Just wait until you have to get the two top bolts of transmission bell housing to change your clutch. HAHA
