Fluid definitely makes a noticeable diff. When it gets crunchy, time for new fluids.

I’ve got a crunchy taco too, but not sure how/where to find level ground to do the work myself. At the same time I’m not sure I want to trust Jiffy Lube but I might have to do just that.

Amsoil or Redline is the question. And do I do the diffs at the same time too or leave em since I’m at 40k and not putting any significant mileage on.

Yeah............no iffy lube..............10:1 they would strip the front diffy drain plug. OTH the MT and TC are so easy a caveman could do it. If you can do an ADM, these fluids, bone easy, just a little schtinky and messy. So yes on getting factory fill out the diffs.

I’m confident I can do it but my driveway is 5 degrees or so. It’s a little rude to ask my friend to use his driveway but maybe that’s an option. Just an odd request and he is pretty OCD too

Yeah tough situation. I would find a friendly shop, but the big problem is they will want to use their own fluids. Sometimes a decent brand, but sometimes generic. There are however some shops that will install your fluids for you.

So I hacked my accumulator BUT on top of hacking it, I decided to go the "extra mile" and took a 1/8 bit low speed 20201026_231101.jpg 20201026_231054.jpg 20201026_231051.jpg 20201026_232609.jpg and drilled both inlet/outlet holes plus went straight through for a little more flow.

My odd noise comes and goes now
Typically when I’m driving all day it will start to make that noise on some shifts. I’m guessing it’s just something to add to the creek and squeak.

I'm crossing my fingers for you. Hopefully it works out.

    Sometimes, that's the best approach.

Have you had a look at the work? Kinks or such.

Agreed. I just worry about the reaming and leaks.

Question: I didn't re-install my heat shield. Everything looks and functions perfectly. Am I gonna die?

Does not seem so warm there. The shield was protecting the accumulator mostly, right?

Yeah, I'd say so but can't speak 100% what its intended for. Just in the camp that if you remove, you reinstall. Then you can be indifferent about what it's supposed to do!
