The ducati.ms sporttouring forum has a ton of great folks on it, but the moderation and BST stuff is a freaking mess. TW is killer by comparison.

Id rather not have any load on the synchros. Your method sounds like more trouble than it's worth, no offense. As for Rev hang, it stops if you wait 1-2 seconds before pressing the clutch pedal. I like to reengage the clutch slowly 100-200 RPMs above the correct RPM for road speed.

I'm glad you are happy.. No really. But others that may not be as happy don't need to be told they're wrong, they just have different tastes than you do. For instance, I rarely shift my truck as high as you when not driving in a "spirited" manner. 2000-2500, that's pretty normal for me. I'm in 5th and sometimes 6th at 40-45 during my mostly back road commute. Truck runs just fine at 1500 RPM in that situation, as long as it doesn't get too hilly. I'm tuned though, so that's another variable.
Anyway, the rev hang isn't a deal breaker for me but it does get annoying when you do happen to wring it out.

I gotta admit, the kick itself at ~3500 and the other small one at ~ 4200 was something that was amusing about the stock calibration lol. Now though, power builds lower and comes on in a much more linear way with the tune.
On ramps? He'll yeah, put it in 3rd at 2500 and let it eat (no waiting). I know it's not a race car, but it moves out pretty damn good for what it is.

My favorite is shifting from 3rd to 6th at 70 mph lol. Stretch 1st, 2nd and 3rd and now you are at 70 mph lol.

Yeah why not, it's a natural feeling upshift, you're just skipping over one gate lol.

When I'm back road commuting in high gear and anything fucks with my forward progression, I do the inverse - 6th down to 3rd for "maneuvers".

I probably skip 5th gear about 95% of the time and occasionally do the 3rd to 6th shift too.

I think the lag when you blip for downshifts is way more annoying than the rev hang on up shifts. Makes fancy rev match downshifts a PITA.

I don't even drive a manual often, but when I DO...

I coast to stop signs in "natural".

That's why they call me "Big Natural".

Yeah. Basically I think you're talking about a double clutch downshift which is a good way to go. No sense doing heavy engine breaking all the time if you have time/distance to coast into the next gear down's ideal rpm range.

Sure you do. Not much (1/3 to 1/2 gal/hr) but you use gas as long as the engine is running.
