Spent the day scouting sites for clean up. Stopped by what I thought was the Ripplebrook ranger station. Guess it hasn't been a ranger station since 95, and no rangers work there o_O

Mapped out as many spots as I could on Gaia GPS. I realize now our biggest problem is likely to be sites that are occupied. Not much we can do about though. I am going to go out next week and scout some more sites. Once I do, I will combine the routes into one, and share it here. You guys will be able to download it and view it in Gaia GPS.

Most of the sites I found today that needed attention are really close to the road. The ones further down forest roads that I stopped by are in much better shape than those close to a road.

Makes sense, if you're too lazy to pack out your trash you're probably also too lazy to venture very far.

I was camping around clear lake last weekend and picked up 7 trash bags of garbage and 2 buckets of poop and a toilet seat. The area around clear lake is getting really bad. Good news is that there are dozens of dumpsters at the clear lake developed campground.

I’m going to start writing down license plates of those camping nearby in case they trash the spot.

Went out again yesterday and scouted some more spots. Now I just need to figure out how to get the waypoints out of gaia. Tried last night, but wasn't able to. Have to work on it some more.

I'm still in. I need to drop off a family member at PDX at 9am and should have just enough time to make it down there by 11am.

Sorry can't make it, got a work commitment through the weekend.

I did clean up 2 sites in MHNF last weekend though, so I'm in the club right?

Thanks in advance for all your efforts, every bit helps.

Looking like there are only going to be three of us. That's a bit disappointing. Ah well, we can still make an impact. Glad you two are on board!

Sorry, hadn't checked the thread the last few days. Let me know if you've got the waypoints downloadable.

Yep - that worked. I hadn't used Gaia's web site before so I was surprised when I clicked that link and none of the sites are displayed on the map it shows you. But, I downloaded the KML file anyway and all of the sites popped up in my phone app just fine.

That's what was making not sure if it worked. Didn't even think to look on my phone. Happy it worked. It's more of a mess than I had hoped, but it's something to work with. I tried to add notes to as many sites as possible.

The unknown sites are sites that may need clean up, but had people camping in them.

Honestly I forgot to put it in my calendar and now I have other plans.

Be safe out there with the dummies and the heat. Suppose to be 100 this weekend.

 That is a bummer. Maybe it will mean more sites are empty though.

    Mods? Yes.
    This is awesome!

I have a trailer if we think there will be enough trash de la asshole to justify it and take it to a transfer station especially if we could pitch in for the fee.
