Mt. Lemon 12/16/09

So me and a "fellow Tacoma enthusiast" decided to go up to mt lemon today for some snow wheeling. the drive up was a lot of fun with a lot of switch-backs and good views. once up there we found a gate that was closed but not locked, so we decided to head up that trail and explore.....actually i had already been on that road, but during the summer when there wasn't any snow

the roads were fun. Not very challenging, but the snow and ice made it pretty tricky. at one point i was going down a small incline and my truck started to slide down sideways. but i couldn't stop so i had to ride it out, i gave it more gas to help swing the end back around and stay straight, but it was a lot more fun than it was scary. we both got out damage free. just some tire spinning in a few spots.....and sometimes it was on purpose

but anyhow, here are the pics

ohh and this was the first time my truck has seen snow

and the first time i got to use my cb on the trails

and the first time i took my bed basket off road

mine is the one with no bumper....i took it off to try and sell it in prep for an aftermarket one

yah, it was a blast. a lot more snow than i thought would still be up there

 

I want to take a trip up to Mt. Lemmon, was there a lot of people up there for the snow?

we didn't see that many people up there because it was a wednesday. but i'm sure on the weekends it gets kinda crowded.

but to find snow in just an hour away from town, mt lemon is a sick place to go. hopefully some of the roads will stay open
