That Evoc pad looks really nice. How does it hold the bikes down? Everything nice and secure? I have used their travel bag before and they are quite nice.

I have the EVOC as well. Holds the bikes down really well, very secure. My only gripe is that I just can't seem to get it placed right to use the rearview camera, but it's a good doggone pad!

Yea I really like that set up. Looks great. I will be considering that one. I am in the process of trying to sell my canopy. I was thinking of going with a vertical style rack, had one for a bit, but I am on the shorter side. The tailgate pad is the perfect setup.

FWIW, I started with the Evoc and loved the look. But the RF is just better IMO. Plus, i never did understand what the rubber bumpers across the top of the tailgate were for.... they just don't line up with anything on the bike.

I can see what you mean about the rubber bumpers. That Raceface set up looks great. Nice work on the modification. That looks really clean and you cannot even tell that it was home made.

Super easy. Just cut really close down the middle seam. you'll end up with one side that remains stitched. Just used ducktape on the unstitched side and hide that under the cover :)

It seems like the fox pad is the same design as the RF just different logos

Oh I did not know that! Well I ended up ordering the RF version, I felt the Fox version was a little too loud for me.

Sure, I will Let you know and post pictures when I get it next week. The reason I didn't go for the Yakima was half the reviews people said the Velcro fails very quickly.

I had the Yakima as well. Was a great pad...but the RF is just a bit better. The pads hold the downtube better, and the camera view is better if you make the small mod I talk about above.

Got the race face, love it. Doesn’t fit perfect with the tonneau cover installed, but I can make do for short trips to where I ride at currently. For a long trip I would remove the tonneau.

Not yet, I may not, it doesn’t bother me too much as is and I won’t have a bike there often.

Just go it on today. Fitment is great and it just feels well made. Mine didn't come with the 5 straps that hold your bike frame down, don't know if that is on Backcountry's end or RF/FOX. Either way RF is sending me replacements. Here is a couple pictures of it on my truck. 10/10 would recommend.

    ...stuff
you know, if you turn the wheel 90 degrees you can push the frame down lower on the pad and get a more stable position.

People seem to miss that part. I will take the cover off for longer trips when I want the bike more stable, but for my normal trails, it’s like a 2 minute drive and not worth the hassle when I use the tonneau more.
