Sorry for delay. Yup...thats a waterport.

The first aid kit I made. Plano-like case off of Amazon, with a great computer monitor mount bolted to it so I could slide off easily. Pistol cable lock secures to truck. Fun project.

Sorry to bring up an old thread and comment on a tangent, but anyone like me finding this thread down the road may benefit. The spots on your tailgate are 99% certain to be "rail dust". Google it. Little pieces of iron that imbed in the paint and rust... most commonly on the tailgate area of trucks due to the way the wind moves over the vehicle. You can clay bar them out or buy product like Adams Iron remover.

Second reason for bringing up an old thread is that I am going to purchase a Fox Overland or Race Face T2 pad like a few people in this thread have (same pad branded one of two ways). The mid size for Tacos is a little short in width on the tailgates of our trucks. Two of you look to have the large version (full size) on your Tacos because they span the entire 48" of the gate. I really like the look of the full gate and the use of the space. Can anyone confirm or comment on using the full size pad on their Taco?

yep, looks like it was rail dust.

i don't leave my tailgate pad on for more than a few days now and i haven't had the problem since. i wonder if dirt or dust was getting caught between the pad and the tailgate and was stuck there, causing rust. i was leaving the pad on through rain, so maybe that was it too? or dirt was rubbing into the paint? either way i don't really notice it anymore.
