Yep. I run a N4. Nomad Version 4. The only thing that changes every "year" is BNG. Bold New Graphics. The N4 ran for two or three years before the N5 was released a few months ago. There may be little refinements. Like the 4.1 no longer has the Front Derailleur gusset or something.

But everyone is running 15mm, 100 or 110 Boost, 150 Fat Bike. Even 100 is getting harder to find as everything is now Boost, because Boost is better. Stronger wheels, especially with Wagon-Wheel 29ers.

Very few things left still cater to 12mm let alone 9mm. It's like a 26" wheel. If you can even find one, finding tires is nearly impossible, you are left with NOS.

So for mountain bikes yes 15mm is basically the standard...but I think you have a market for gravel/road in my opinion. 12x100 seems to be the current standard for gravel bikes and I think road bikes are shifting to it too.

My gravel bike uses a 12x100 front axle. This is a really nice and simple product that I’d buy. I’d be more likely to buy if 12x100 was an option. Personally, it would be cool if you could sell a 12x100 axle and a sleeve to make it work for other sizes.

once i am finished with this first batch of 15mm specific setups, i'll do some investigation on 12mm setups that could potentially accommodate 15mm stuff as well. part of this design was driven by the easy availability of 15mm shaft stock for me. It may lead to a dedicated 15mm setup for folks who only have 15mm stuff, and a 12mm setup with spacers to 15mm for those that need both.

thanks for the heads up on segments of the market i'm not super familiar with!

that makes sense haha, I still like the idea of a dedicated 15mm axle, I just wouldn't use that as much since I usually use a hitch rack when I'm going mountain biking. I will definitely be following this though!

You want to make your head hurt with ridiculous "standards" - lets talk Bottom Brackets. Good lord. It's so stupid. It took almost a week of research to get the right BB and matching crankset for my wifes Fat Bike. Why??!?!?!

I don't have a name for it other than fluffernutter. Maybe name it Cindy. But I want one! Do you have a for sale/dev thread/details anywhere on here/elsewhere?

This thread has generated enough interest that we're moving from prototype to small batch production. i have materials incoming, expecting about 3-4 weeks to be ready to go live. In the mean time i'm building the website for public sales, but i expect a group buy thread here when i'm ready too, with a discount for all you taco-bros

Not a name, but any chance of you doing this for 20mm axles?

whoa, i didn't even know 20mm existed. it's possible, but would be demand dependent. making 1 is way harder than making 50 surprisingly

Cheers! I love it, I am getting a soft topper soon and was thinking of how to hold the front wheel. This may just solve all that.

Looking at it I might suggest to @TMCmakes to look at potentially using a thread insert, similar to Primo cranks (I'm from the BMX world originally, these are aluminum so they need a steel thread insert).

    upload_2021-3-11_11-37-45.jpg

Then you could just oversize the through hole and put in whatever size you need.

I doubt there'd be much demand lol. If anything I'm sure I could make the 15mm work with some shims.
