In the end I just want a capable mid travel rig to get me through the trails here in north cal and the occasional run over to Moab.

That's why I started with armor first and now I'm doing suspension
Then I'll do gearing and then tires

If I get a capable enough rig for what I want I may even not go sas in the long run.

It's all good. It's just unfortunate that it always turns out this way on here.

I have basically the same setup you are looking at running. Expos not dakars, camburg not TC.
Its a sweet setup. You'll love it. I have mine set at about 2.75 up front. Sits a little ass high when not carrying gear and rtt. Which is fine with me.

@2ndGenJonny Looks like you need to change the title to Safe Place again. Where's Gabriel when you need him. Imagine if he'd chimed in to this hilarity.

Did you remove a leaf out of your pack or just leave it the way it is?

I'm gonna do the shackle flip for more droop and I guess that nets around 3/4 to an inch of lift so I'm assuming full have to remove the 3rd leaf out of the Dakar pack won't know until I get it mocked up I guess

Depends.. but not in awhile has it been like that.
Jberry doesn't really sugarcoat anything and would probably be the 1st to admit he can come of as an asshole. At the end of the day he has helped a shit ton of people and the 1st few posts of this thread are because of him taking time to help.

I believe that most on here want to help but youve got to have a backbone when you get called out and swallow your pride a bit and admit if you're wrong.

    Check Build thread
So if close to 3in is what im after in “lift”.

I about 3in now using the #600 coils but requires a fair amount of preload (having a front bumper/skids) but is a bit stiff.

You think switching to a #650 coil would be a better option for the same lift and less preload? Or adjust the shim stack on the current #600 coil setup I have now?

    -thanks in advance:hattip:
