Kind of a lazy question. I did some searching and couldn't find the info...

Does anyone have the compressed length on Icon and also King extended travel coilovers for 2nd gens?

My Kings are on back order and I want to do all the mounting for my bypasses. I have Icons right now and wanted to see if I could find the info before taking a bunch of stuff apart... If they are close I can use what I have to get these bypasses mounted. Man I got a lot of work ahead me...

Happy with my relocated 12s. Was finally able to stretch it out yesterday and in this shot I had 11.5" of shaft showing which is perfect IMO. I'm getting 5" up and 6.5" down

Yeah, never seen anyone actually do that and document it on Tacomaworld. Everyone else guestimates or pays someone to guesstimate the travel.

I mean, its the proper way to do it so you don't set the suspension up incorrectly.

Have you looked to see how much space is available to clear 35s in the rear with triple bypasses?

The key to 2.5 bypasses in the rear will be getting them built with the tubes and resivoir inline with each other. And even then you'll still want to run a spacer or notch the frame

Nope. Too damn cold right now. Just getting the new springs installed was painful.

Totally agree but I just think about all the grinding and wrenching and measuring and welding and painting and to think just taking the time to cycle the suspension to make sure there are no mistakes is "extra effort". It's already a crap load of time and effort.

My dad taught me the "One and Done" way of working on stuff. Do it right, and all the way right, the fist time....

Sorry for the late reply, busy busy... You guys are right, it is a TON of work to do that setup, took me 4 days of working after the day job. This is the way I see it... I spent a lot of money on shocks and bump stops. I also spent a ton of time and headache cutting off 4 shock mounts and getting everything prepped. The time it takes to dissemble a leaf pack is minuscule to all of that. Why guess and have a suspension setup that doesn't use all of it's travel, something binds, rubs or even worse breaks on the trail. Anyone who does a shock mount should honestly take the time to do it right the first time! IF you don't have time, buy it from a good shop!!! Ok off my soap box I go...

Here is the finished product under the fenders anyways. Still need to build the cross bar tomorrow hopefully. I also got my new front coilovers mounted. Attempted a bypass install as well... Took the front suspension apart, started cycling things and figuring out how to do the mounts. Did a little research and realized the project was going to be too big to do it right in the time I have, leaving for a trip in 12 days. So I at least took advantage of the work I had done, bumped the front out and went full turn on both sides trimming away plastic and some seems to get perfect clearance. It's not fun work but awesome when you never rub those $1000 tires!
