I once got a gag gift for someone called "Rambler's Road Apples"...horse poop in a candy box. It looked very real.

I've heard the moose berries work well as fire starters when soaked in paraffin and dried.

AK has the market on moose poop gifts - earrings, necklaces, xmas ornaments...

:) Never said I would be the one eating - it was more the... marketing slogan for selling them. I was going for the gag gift angle too $$$

Market them as elk truffles in Japan. $100/oz. They'll buy anything, the weirder, the better. Cody can be your middle man.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Amazing pictures! Can't belive I've lived in Montana all these years and have only visited Yellowstone maybe 3 times, never been to Teton, and only been over the Beartooth maybe 4 times, I need to get out more and explore these places during the summer. Damn work gets in the way though, my busiest season is summer. Wish it were the other way around and I was busy all winter and then the workload slowed down to leisure status of winter during the summer instead! Sometimes we get a slow period at work in the winter and I get 2 weeks off at a time. If only that happened in summer..

    :notsure:
hmmm...could work. i often get tourists following me around, trying to take pics that i take. since i focus on the ground a lot (the bacteria/algae mats of the thermals) and there's poop on the ground also they seem to think that its the poop i'm photographing

i do not understand this either. and work is no excuse - my work is crazy every summer (construction) and i still find plenty of time to explore

Another reason to love the park: no matter how many times I visit I'm always seeing something new or finding new places to explore. I had always thought that this road was closed to vehicles and was only open to hikers/bikers but was happy to learn that you can drive it. This is part of the original stagecoach trail that led from the train station in Gardiner to Mammoth Hot Springs - that was the first stop for most of the early visitors to the park in the late 1800's. The road now starts behind the backcountry office in Mammoth and ends right at the north entrance station - its one way, about 5 miles, open seasonally. Great views of the mountains to the north of the park and I can see there are a few areas that could be excellent for animal sightings - saw some pronghorns and a few buffalo when I drove it but would expect to see maybe some moose and elk in there too.

There's another stretch of the stagecoach trail outside of the park too - going to have to investigate if that is open to vehicles as well. Always looking for ways to avoid the high traffic areas!

Wow, great shot. Looks like a lot of fun. Gotta get the truck out there sometime instead of the bike. I guess I could trailer the bike out there?? But my motto has always been "If you ever see my bike on a trailer, call the cops. It's been stolen." :D

I'm going to have to check that out! It's strange not seeing snow this late.

That was a few weeks ago. But Gardiner in general doesn't see a lot of snow. I'm sure the mountains in the background got covered last night though!
