You could start with an online class. Suggest people review the material before coming to the park. It'd need to have highlights and places to visit with the "don't mess with the wildlife" message mixed in.

Of course the people who get out of their cars to hang with the bears won't watch it. But there's hope.

Mooses and bears and marmots and baby buffaloes oh my!
Took a day trip though the park - was going to make it down there one way or another! Kinda glad I didn't camp - snowed last night and they had to plow most of the roads this morning  was cold as hell but was a good day over all.

Saw a black bear and chatted with the ranger in charge of crowd control. Mentioned the video I linked above and that I wanted to smack those people on the bridge. Turns out he did too. He was there when that happened and he told those people to leave but they didn't listen. He wasn't going to risk his own life because they were too stupid to move when they were told.

Also saw tons of baby buffaloes - I usually don't stop when I see buffalo because they're just like big, fuzzy cows but the calves are pretty darn cute. Saw lots of deer too which is odd - I've gone whole summers without seeing a deer in the park and today I saw a couple dozen. Saw some elk everywhere except the park, lots of birds, marmots, I think I maybe saw an owl this morning but I'm not sure, and I saw 5 moose on the drive home!

Yeah, I just didn't camp because I didn't want to deal with a wet RTT and a wet camera

Brink of the Lower Falls Trail Closed Due to Rock and Mud Slide

Heavy rain and snow over the weekend caused a rock and mud slide across the Brink of the Lower Falls trail, prompting rangers to close the trail until further notice. One rock that crashed down is nearly 7 feet tall and 8 feet long, effectively blocking the trail.

    I know!
That's one of my favorite spots in Yelly. Narrow little trail, definitely tricky to navigate on a good day.

most times I go on my own, I keep a weird schedule and most people can't keep up with me. But anyone that wants to try is welcome! When I do go with others they usually point out something that I've overlooked, always nice to see the park through new eyes

Found this site the other day so I'd thought I'd share it here. Seems to be pretty accurate as far as trail descriptions, difficulty ratings, etc. And I love that they give you pictures of the journeys as well - nice to know ahead of time that your efforts are going to lead you to something beautiful!

I enjoyed visiting Yellowstone park. It's been a while and I hope I can go back there one day to show my kids.
Thanks for sharing the nice pictures!
