More or less. Mom was grazing about 15 feet from road, morons standing right in front of her on the pavement. Road is elevated about 10 feet, this little head pops out of the culvert right below where the morons were standing...cub had been hiding in there

I just glanced through it. Some interesting stuff but nothing earth shattering at first glance.

You have got to be kidding me. Can't we just leave nature the fuck alone. Watch from a far. Don't interfere.

People just don't get it. There are more people visiting every year and many of them have never experienced any truly wild nature....just a city park sandwiched between skyscrapers. They just don't understand.
Bad part is is that the animals in the park are a lot more tolerant of people than their wild counterparts living outside of the park. They are used to having lots of people around taking pictures and whatnot. The animals don't run away at the sight of a human and people are too ignorant to realize that just because they can get closer doesn't mean they should get closer. They are still wild animals and will react to a threat just as any wild animal would.

    and should have trampled her.
and should have trampled her. I seek to get back in touch with nature. Not to touch nature itself.

Exactly. To stand up & run full bore over & thru her, and the animal would be justified in doing so.

Loved the "where are the rangers?" comment. Like the rangers are supposed to protect you from stupid when the signs at the front gate tell you what the consequences are.

And everyone is given a newspaper and flyer that outline the rules and warn against things like approaching the animals or going off trail in the thermal areas....and there are warnings posted in most restrooms too.

Couldn't find a ranger when I saw the bear on Saturday either, and I was not in an area with cell reception as I have the rangers' number saved in my phone. Its early in the season and they're not fully staffed for summer yet.

It's so crazy to think people get so many warnings yet ignore them. I remember watching a couple that had gotten too close and been charged. Thankfully, nothing bad happened. But jeez people, take the hint--you don't wanna be tomorrow's stats.

Maybe a good time for a safety refresher....they need to get jumbo TVs mounted over the entrance gates, then while you're sitting in your car waiting to get through gate you can watch videos of people being gored...
