Just a quick winter update...I went snowshoeing outside of West Yellowstone last weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL! This is on the banks of the Madison River about 1 mile inside the park boundary.

    Lisa,
Wow, your pictures are amazing. You have a great eye. I've ridden a motorcycle all over this country. Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you my favorite destination is MT. On my list of great roads are #1 - BTH, very, very close second is the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier NP, and #3 is the CJH. I've ridden all of them numerous times. Beautiful scenery. I was in CO, the GT's and Yellowstone this past August. That trip there was a lot of smoke from the wildfires. Made my heart heavy. Your pics have convinced me the next time I head out west, it may have to be in the Tacoma instead of the bike so I can head down some of those dirt roads
you mentioned. Thanks for the pics, would love to see more.
    Mike

So you'd love to take the truck through the area and I'd love to take a bike (or a convertible would do too) just to get a bit more of an unobstructed view. The backroads are nice, some scenic others not so much. But if you need a break from the tourist traffic jams they certainly do the trick!
And the smoke was horrible last summer! I got down to the Tetons and couldn't see them! But I was determined not to waste the trip so I had to get a little creative with picture opportunities...lots of close ups and less scenery.
THis is the normal view from Jenny Lake Camp
    [IMG]
And this is what happens when there's a wildfire due west *cough, cough*
    [IMG]

trust me, much -er in person.

Do it! Yelly is always changing so no two trips are ever the same.

By all means! I love to see what other people find interesting about the park because it might be something that I've overlooked before.

Hopefully I'll have more to contribute/update here soon...been trying to plan a winter trip down there and do either a snowcoach or snowmobile trek into the park. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate a little bit

I haven't been to the park in the winter since I was a kid. So excited.
