    That has already changed.
And it was mandated long before 45 was elected but took affect in the last two months.

Probably only a handful of people, aside from NPS employees, who visit the park as much as you. LOL

There have been attempts in the past to put Starbucks and the like in the parks for a price.

NPS can gain more revenue by selling 2-3 park passes- or a pass for NPS in a given region only.

The shuttle buses at Yos do not need to be free. Bus passes can be sold.

I would expect that folks would know to follow the rules by now....no politics, no fighting...ESPECIALLY in a thread created by and frequented by a staff member.
Its a sensitive topic, I get that. But there is a way to discuss it without getting snippy with one another or delving into politics.

So I know I complain about the tourists in Yellowstone and their bad manners and such but I gotta say our bathroom etiquette here isn't as bad as in other parks. The park service has added the "no squatty potty" signs to many locations but this sign I found in Canyonlands was a first....
    o_O
do we really need to be told not to poo on the floor? or not to throw our dirty TP on the floor?

We must, because I see signs everywhere that state what I think is common sense. More and more people just dont want to think for theirselves. Its easier for them to be told what and how to do something.

Steamboat Geyser reportedly erupted in Yellowstone National Park Thursday evening.

Park employees reported seeing the eruption of the tallest active geyser in the world on the evening of March 15, 2018. Steamboat’s last major eruption was on Sept. 3, 2014.

Comparing the first-hand reports with remote USGS thermal sensors, park geologists believe the activity could be a series of minor eruptions. According to a press release from the park, USGS sensors are currently offline, but the staff is troubleshooting equipment today and may deploy new ones.

Steamboat is in the Norris Geyser Basin, but roads are currently closed for spring plowing.

There may be hope. At least they think it will be a series of eruptions.
