Why are so many people looking to buy mud flaps? Are they losing them or breaking um? I don't understand, it's good for guys like me who take um off and get rid of them but damn, every mud flap for sale thread has lots of guys wanting them. I don't see what's so special about them.

Have you tried searching for them online? It's simple economics man, the stealership is making a killing off of them. Personally I didnt have any at all on my truck (plain ol' SR5 here, no off road package) and i didnt want to pay a metric shit ton to get them, so I made some out of some rubber mat I had lying around last week.

Most places I know of, it's not legal to run without a certain level of protection from throwing debris up from the road. Some cars and other vehicles that are low to the ground can get by without flaps (their rear quarters do the job); most trucks can't.
