I fixed my outdoor temp/compass unit with radio shack resistors from the above thread and put aftermarket Powerflow 6417 mud flaps on it that I bought on Amazon for under $30 a pair. The temp/compass works great and the flaps fit pretty good too. They are way more durable than the stock ones. The plastic factory front mud flaps on my last 05 broke when I backed up in deep snow.
