I’m looking at either the Rex Gen or Tufskin mud flaps. The Rex Gen don’t say but the Tufskins specifically say they won’t work on SR trims. I checked and looks like I have bolts in the same spots as the install videos I watched so I’m confused. I don’t have extended fender flares either. So will these work?

What did you upgrade to? I agree the hardware it comes with isn't stellar, but the flaps themselves are great.

@Tacomike18 Do you have more details about upgrading the hardware?

Home Depot hardware. The hardware that comes with the mud flaps are wrong and don’t fit well. I got shorter screws and a metal spacer with washers.

I have RekGen's on my SR. Good product. I used the hardware that came with the flaps. They have been on my truck since January 2019. 2DD406BF-E547-4429-A9D0-A49E32DE3EFB.jpg

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Be careful how securely you fasten the mud flaps. I backed over a short stump and caught the left front mud flap between the tire and the stump - the rotation of the tire pulled the flap down and off, but not before distorting the front quarter panel. This was on a 1st gen Tacoma. Ever since I've always made sure to slit the holes in the flaps - it's cheaper to replace a flap than it is a quarter panel.
