Do you have mud flaps or not? For those who have them, do you like the aesthetic or is it more practical?

Flaps on. Keeps thrown rocks off my trailer and those behind me. It’s the right thing to do.

Flaps on. It helps a little. Not a lot. A little. As evidenced by the splatter marks on the camper. But hey, at least the truck rockers are clean.

Flaps on. Helps keep rocks from chipping the paint and also keeps snow/mud off.

Practical … ran without them, and the side of the car/rear would be splattered with crap after every rainstorm. Now it’s pretty darn clean.

don’t give a F about the look, which Imo is no worse. This is a truck not a Lamborghini. Flaps add to the aesthetics

Not. Never been hit by rocks from a non mud flap vehicle. If I was to, I’m driving too close. Will consider them if I ever get an RV trailer though.

I’m over 60 and not cool, so yes on the flaps. Besides, they don’t ruin the looks of the truck anymore than a tonneau cover, bed cap, rock rails, side steps or those lame chrome exhaust tips.

Definite Yes. I think they look better without, but after seeing how much snow/mud/junk they keep off the rockers, its stupid for me not to use them.
I think it kind of depends on where you live as far as weather and what you do with your truck. I see people say they suck for off roading as they just get caught on shit.

I think there should be a law that all vehicles have at least the rear mudflaps on. Would prevent others from getting broken windshields.

On. They do what there're supposed to do. As far as looks, after 2 weeks, you will not notice them.

The way I see it, is to keep them on. If they fall off, then it was meant to be.... :D

i have them as factory (or port) installed and while they are functional, i do not like the look of them. they look worse than the chin strap imo. i may get around to removing them.

Let's say you are stuck in mud up to your wheel hub. If you try and free yourself by rocking back and forth, while moving backwards, the mud flap will stick to your wheel and reduce the total circumference of usable tire (or available traction). You're forced to then go forward, which is how you got stuck, or try and turn.

Ask me how I know.... After I freed myself, I went home and took the mud flaps off. I remember getting out of the truck while it was stuck and seeing what was happening. It's pretty interesting.

    Reasons to Remove:
    • Want better off-road traction
    • High & Tight Look
    • Don't care about paint or others behind you
    • Not legally required to have
    Reasons to keep:
    • Local laws
    • Like OEM Look (I like the 4x4 on the mud flaps)
    • Care about your paint or others behind you on road.
