Up to you. Mine are staying on even with my 33" tires. I doubt they put much salt and sand on your roads, but are you throwing things at the side of your truck (stones, gravel, mud) when you go off road?

Then I would take them off but save them until after you lift it and see if you want to put them back on. I trimmed mine before the lift and now wish they were full length now.

i did all my trimming pre lift and now that its lifted i still believe the length is great on the rears. I used a saw to cut the straight line across the flaps and then used the bottom of the flap to mark the rounded corners. used a belt sander after that and a file to get all the excess plastic off for a clean flush look. Disreguard all the dirt flung onto the rear body panel cause that is what happens when they are completely off the truck.

Dang, Josh! Had I known you were getting rid of yours I would have made an offer! My rear "4x4" emblems are faded. I may just paint the lettering with white spray paint (that plastic-friendly stuff).

I kept my flaps on because they're practical and save my paint. I lived in Fairbanks, AK for a few years and the gravel they put down on the icy roads there chewed up my old '02 Tacoma! However, the mud flaps helped a lot.
