No mud flaps are great till you kick a rock on someones window and they follow you and get your insurance information.

I think the truck looks better without them, but I don't like sandblasting my paint so I left them on.

I cut the front flaps little more then halfway, looks a ton better. Between the flaps and the step bars my paint should be safe. I also think the truck looks better with no flaps at all 4 corners.

I ripped my front Drivers side off the first time i took mine off road... the front passenger side will be coming off my next time im with my truck. i plan on leaving the rears on as when i put lift and tires on i will kick up rocks.

Sell them. They ruin your paint more than protect it in the long run. Took mine off second day I owned the truck. Still have them, didn't know I could get a pretty good grit for them if I sold them.

I'm waiting until I see some good 3rd party alternatives before I take mine off. I hate hearing them scrape every time I hit a speed bump at just the right angle/speed though. I want some good semi-hard rubber ones that will flex if they scrape on something but not flap too hard in the wind...

I think Husky makes some mud flaps.

Oh man! I thought something was wrong with my truck. Every time I hit a bump I heard this scraping noise from one of my front wheels (it would change which wheel made the sound depending what angle I hit the bump). I'll bet it's the mudflaps scraping across the bumps! Hahaha I'm getting a lift coming up whenever I have the money for it- a month or so perhaps?- so I'll have to reconsider whether I want the mudflaps on there. I got stuck in sand/clay once and I thought they were a bit of a liability there, and they almost got ripped off pulling the truck out anyway.

I think its a common courtesy to have flaps on the truck to save other people's windshields.

    But thats just my opinion.

I got a new windshield about 2 months ago after having 3 rocks hit my windshield within about 2 weeks. Every one of the vehicles that threw a rock at me had mudflaps. And just a week ago another vehicle with mudflaps threw a rock at me, but luckily it didn't damage my windshield.

They do keep the mud off my truck though, which I like.

There's a thread, Official* Tacoma Mudflaps where a member sells ones he made that are wider and more flexible and easily trimmed. I ordered a pair today for $85 and am going to sell mine for more than that so to me I'm making money to upgrade

    Just an option

They make removable ones for off roading if that is what people are looking for.
