eventually you will prob want to remove the front. likely will rub at some point. Thats when I removed mine. Eventually had to remove both as I trimmed my fenders. Def looks better without but the protection is nice.

This. But now I have a few chips on my passenger door too. My entire driveway is rock and have no idea what the hell I was thinking by not ordering sooner. In fact, I have some flaps headed my way now.

I got rid of the factory flaps and installed REK GEN flaps after going with larger tires. No rubbing, have saved the paint on my trips to CO, NM and AZ. Like the look

IMO Rear only. My buddy busted my windshield just after off roading. Right when we got on the freeway rock came flying.

I've been driving trucks and SUV's since the 1970's. My Tacoma is the only vehicle I've ever owned that had them and they broke off after 3 years. Been driving without them for 10 years. Well over 90% of the trucks and SUV's on the road in most places don't have them either. I've never had any damage to glass or paint with out them, or without any other drivers having them. They are required for some reason that I can't figure out in a couple of states.

I get it on flat bed trucks and big trucks that don't have fenders. But as long as your fenders cover the tires mud flaps won't help. If the tire/wheel combo you're using allows the tire to stick out past the fenders you need fender extensions, not mud flaps.

I just took a look. There's a couple in the paint, but nothing to worry about.

I used some cheap RalleyArmour universals with some easy heat moulding for the front flap.

I just took mine off because my front tires are actually rubbing up against the mud guard (idk how because Im still running stock tires - 25psi).

Personally, I like the protection they provide. My 2020 came with them already installed, but I had to add them to my other 3rd gens. Always ended up with a few rock chips before I could get them on. I have the OEM mud guards, but if you do a lot of off roading, some flexible ones would be a better choice. As others have said, they may also save the windshield of someone driving behind you.

IMO gotta have 'em if you tow a boat on gravel/mud. Love the functionality and look of the RekGens on my TRD-OR.

I have the OEM mud guards and there's No doubt about it they protect your rocker panels and even above from flying rocks and debris and I don't think they look bad.

I’ve never had them on any vehicle in my life. What problem do they solve?

Where I grew up the majority of roads are gravel and I never about heard so much talk about mud guards until I joined this forum. I can say the same thing about surface rust on frames and hitch receivers.

To protect the truck from rocks, I installed sliders and a skid plate. Did I screw up?

That's up to you. Personally I have both. IMO it makes more sense to block em at the source then after they've spread. But as long as it works for you, that's all that matters

If you do any driving on gravel then yes they will reduce damage on your truck from the midline down. Also they will help to limit that nasty fresh hot pavement or road paint striping from speckling the side of your truck which is no fun to remove.
