I was being facetious. The rocks I’m worried about are much larger and not stopped by a mud guard.

    Mud flaps: Yes or No??

In my situation with 700 foot long stone driveway and living on the snowy south shore of Lake Ontario . . .

    Yes indeed.

Dealer has factory sets of 4 (with hardware) for 2020 Tacoma for $85.00 plus 8% tax.

Or are the flexible ones more practical? Any opinions on that?

    Thanks

    YES.
Even if they aren't the coolest thing in the world and the truck would look a little bit better without I put the Tufskinz mud guards on the first week I had the truck.
    https://www.tufskinz.com/product/mud-flaps-fits-2016-2020-toyota-tacoma

I have a stone driveway and live in an area where winter can be mild or we can have some serious snow and ice storms. It keeps the gunk off and they keep stones from being thrown on the rockers and paint.

I like the Tufskinz ones. They are mostly rigid but have some flexibility. They are flat, simple and you can get custom matching 4WD logo if you like.
$30 per pair too so not expensive.

Yeah I got both. And got the 4WD logo in cement to match the truck.

I probably would not get the front ones with a logo if I were to get them now, I'd get those plain and the rear with the logo. I ordered them before my truck was delivered. I should go take so pics and post them up.

Ive found that without mud flaps rocks sometimes fly up at the tailgate when your going on dirt roads really fast (yes with the tailgate up) but with the mud flaps the rocks instead hit the mud flaps and travel to the sides of the truck bed and hit the car in the lane next to you or up at the sides of the truck bed and hit the paint on the truck bed of your truck so your damned if you do or damned if you dont

I love my Rek Gens but just took off the fronts after I switched to 17's. I was dissapointed they rub.

Maybe a little lift and they can go back on.

20201003_120243.jpg no mudflaps. Has not been a problem with this truck.

Definitely looks better without them. All the Tacomas in New England seem to come with them, so I've always left mine on.

My 2017 didn't have mudflaps, and I did have a few chips and dings because of it. My 2020 has mudflaps and, while it doesn't look as good, I will keep them until I have a suitable alternative. I don't want to chip my paint off so easily again.

I guess it is easier to say no mudflaps here, south of Atlanta, where we rarely ever have our roads salted due to that white stuff yall get north of here.

And i have pulled a mudflap off the front once backing up in 4wd and getting it caught between the back of the front tire and a tree stump. Snatched it right on off the dang truck. I did get over the stump!

Keep the mud flaps if they don’t rub. Your paint will thank you later

It's not about salt. It is just random stuff dropped on the road or driver after offroading, gravel parking lots, and such.

I put them on mine, 5 days and about 2500 miles after getting the truck. Have 4 chips on the lower parts of the body and the reason for the mud flaps. I like the old Toyota 4x4 mud flaps, not sure why Toyota stopped using them, they are classic. A lot depends on where you drive. Living in SW Colorado, I do a lot of gravel roads, I have already had a clear bra on the front half of the truck.

FWIW, received my 2020 on Wednesday. Found a set of Husky front and backs on Amazon for $47 so they will be here Wednesday. I have 50 acres I have to drive down a dirt and gravel road to get to once a week.

I'm thinking of going with the TufSkinz also. I bought a set of OEM mud flaps for my '19 SRF DCSB but because the truck is white I don't want those rubbing into my fender flares so I'm not going to install them.

I've got 265/75 r16's on stock suspension. I'm hoping there's enough room up front to install the front TufSkinz without any rub. Any chance you can post a pick of yours?

Looks like you and I built the same truck. Lol.

What are your dimensions? Center of wheel to fender...front and back..

EDIT: Not to be off-topic, I'd say get them if you feel you need them. Living near Galveston, I don't have a lot of use for them on a regular basis.
