Just bought a 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Access Cab. Had the dealer ship put on mud flaps on. They look like car mud flaps. Can some one recommend some other type of mud flaps. Would like to change them when my all terrain tires are put on.

I just got some RokBloktz for my 15, needed wider for tire/wheel setup. Have not put them on yet, but the quality looks real good, they are much wider,12" wide in front, 13" wide in rear.

Rokbloktz are the best going right now if you want to protect your rig.

What's the difference between OEM and Weathertechs?

on my 2013 I got weather techs for the front since they are shorter than OEM,
and now front and back (back are oem) look even.

otherwise not much different than oem. I don't know much about OEM 2016 flaps though if they are overly long
    like previous years

The OEM "flaps" are not really Flaps, they are more/less "Guards" like Weather Tech and Husky, they are stiff molded plastic and if you do any wheeling or driving through snow/ice they will likely rip off of your truck and strip the mounting hardware in the process. Floppy rubberized style "Flaps" are more useful for my application because I drive back roads, unmaintained fire and forest service roads, and I am often in areas that a 2wheel drive truck is not going to get back into... so with that being said there are some Floppy options out there that are better suited and some options are far more affordable than others. If you search this forum for Plasticolor you will find a good amount of info and photos on 3rd gen owners using them with install info. Beyond that you have the RockBlokz which I didn't care for because they flare out too far and have a logo that resembles something you'd see on an energy drink can, but to each their own. Also you have Rally Armor which I felt fit into the same category as Rock Blokz. They make Plasticolor with the oldschool 4WD white logo which I thought looked pretty nice, and they fit flush with the fender flares and for me that just looks a whole lot better. Now if you are going to run oversized tires that stick out, the Rock Blokz and Rally Armor might be better, but they do cost more too. All things to consider.

I like the Weather Tec, they fit great and only takes 15 minutes to put them on

Great for pavement. Not good for OP's intended use of "All Terrain"... those puppies won't last off road.

OEM ARE $140+ and Weathertech are $80. I really like my Weathertech, easy to install.
They probably won't tolerate intense off roading, but for now I'm driving a "pavement princess" as someone else has said. My previous truck was lifted and I had removed the mud flaps.

I have the OEM mud guards as well, but my truck is 2WD. We rarely get snow here, besides I had the same on my '00 Tundra and they lasted 15 years. I did drive it on the beach on a few occasions and they remained intact. Yet, I must admit, if you'really going to do some "real" four wheeling in the woods or over rocks the OEM guards will last just that day! I can definitely see these ripping off because they aren't flexible.

Flappy or not ... if you're wheeling and it gets caught between the tire and rock/dirt/etc. it's just going to rip right off. Moving forward won't be the problem, it's when you partially clear an obstacle and roll back and then your tire can pinch the flap against something. Try to get out of that spot, and off comes the mud flap, flappy or not.

I'm waiting to get delivery on my weathertech mud flaps, was told by weathertech.ca that they are out of stock will take 3 weeks for delivery. It would of been nice if they had told me this prior to ordering them, nothing to indicate this on their web site or order confirmation email.

I have a white truck, I hate putting black things on a white paint job. They tend to really stick out. I have searched for white flaps but have only so far found the only white application to be a Cadillac Escalade and maybe the Buick SUV. Has anyone painted their flaps to match their truck color? If so can you share your technique and steps of doing so, and how they have held up? Thanks

I just don't see white flaps holding up too well ... they're going to be constantly having stuff from the road thrown up into them.
