Not all Chinese stuff is junk. 30 years ago I bought a 99 cent bamboo back scratcher made in China. I've used it every day since then and it's always performed flawlessly. Would buy again.

Not trying to crap on your post but ...
The Weather Techs and OEM have approximately the same clearance. I measured them in 2017. I don't think they have changed since.
I actually bought a set of Weather Techs, they had a defect so I returned them and bought OEMs.

I was actually curious about this as well. The OEM's tend to hold stuff, which for me necessitates kicking to "empty" them. Was wondering if Weathertech had this same issue

I used the rallyarmour universals and drilled my own holes. Its a little bit of a pain, but they are quality. They are extremely flexible so setting them down on a rock does nothing. If you don't want to drill your own holes the RokBlokz are probably the next best thing

No coating the sides with mud. Pretty much all the mud is from the tires hitting the mud

I just installed the oem flaps, and have a loose bolt.

Its one of the front flaps, the bolt that goes in the bottom hole. After the install, when I wiggled the flap, that bolt would pop out a bit. I squeezed some silicon in the hole, and also on the bolt/washer so it couldnt fall out if it loosens again. Wiggled, and that bolt will still come out about 1/4 inch.
I could epoxy the threads and put it in, or go with a larger stainless screw? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Has anyone successfully ran OEM flaps with larger wheel/tire set ups? Is there any modification you can do to the flap to prevent rubbing when running a more aggressive wheel offset?

Identical to what I'm running, these are great flaps and have some adjustability.

Rekgen make flaps for Subies

Might have lost/cracked the plastic insert that the "bolt" threads into. It happens.

Best mod is to remove them. They're stiff, so if you rub the tires will win over the mudflaps. No use in risking stripping out the bolts or breaking the plastic inserts they thread into.

those bottom inserts must be cracked. Of course that is the one that you can't get to the back of the insert.
Any problems if I just don't use the bottom bolt?

It should stay on just fine without half the bolts I would think.

    Pretty much everything listed ...

If you get the OEM flaps, make sure you order the ones withOUT the fender flares (unless you have the SX package)

Can anyone confirm that part number 90189-06236 is correct for the plastic thread insert for this bolt? Thanks! (Will get some ebay generics)
