Before I bought my truck, I was out with a buddy in his Tacoma and we backed into a small dirt pile on the side of the trail barely moving and the mud flap fell off. I saw how they mount, and knew they would be coming off as soon as I bought my truck. First thing I did, pulled in the garage and pulled them off. Got $300 for the set on E-bay. I would rather have sliders then mud flaps for $300!

Just got a ticket on the way to Vegas for no mudflaps (nothing else). C'mon man. I am tired of being harassed by CHP hoping they find a teenage driver and something else. Once they pull me over and see a nearly 40 year old, you can see the look in their eyes, like damn, I thought I was going to harass an 18 year old. Oh well, another ticket for my buddy to sign off on. He thinks its funny.

I have drove lifted trucks for years and never been pulled over for mud flaps. Recently, I drove a lifted F-350 and Jeep Unlimited with no problems.

If you do not take them off, they will fall off eventually if you - a. Offroad, and then the tree huggers will get you for littering, b. hit a curb mall crawling as mentioned above, or any other action simular to above. If you just drive your truck around just as you would a Camry, you will probably be ok...:D

By the way, are your tires wider then stock or the body of the truck? I understand if you have aftermarket or larger tires which are wider then the body they will ticket you without flaps, but I have never heard of anyone ticketed for just not having flaps?

ya know I always had them on...even when I got the Kumho MT's. Today I just took them off and I'll tell ya...it makes a difference in how the truck looks.

Took my fronts off about 6 months ago when I put nerf bars on. Put them back on after a detail over the weekend. I may trim them, but too much crap getting sprayed on the truck.

just took all of mine off. I broke the first mount so that was the lesson learnt required to remove the rest safely.

If I sell these will I need that one mount?

has anyone that has removed them done anything creative to protect from scrapes (3M clear plastic protectors, 3rd party shorty mud flaps, etc. ) ?
