Truck is 2weeks old so you are correct so far. Winter is coming, and Boy Scouts are Friday and Saturday so we will see how things go. But I still like the way they look. Hope they hold up.

I have to say, I was surprised by the length of the mud flaps when I was buying my 14. I have considered trimming them down but I guess they are more useful as they are...

All it took for me was backing up along the edge of a hay field. My front wheel dropped into a dip or tractor wheel rut that was running perpendicular to the direction that I was travelling and pop! Just like that, my front mud flap got pinched between the front tire and the rut and was ripped off before I realized what happened and before I had time to react.
I learned a couple things that day:
    1. OEM mudflaps hang down pretty low (which is why they protect the quartes from rocks and stuff)
    2. OEM replacement mudflaps are friggin expensive
    3. OEM mudflaps should be removed for any real offroading (more than gravel roads)

Are your stainless tubes, OEM or aftermarket? I like the way they pull up close to the body. Looking for a set, looked at the 5" oval type but think they may look too big for this mid-sized truck.

    Nice rivet job there.

I was thinking about riveting on some additional flap onto my RokBlokz.

Does anyone know what size push-rivets can be used to replace the factory plastic fasteners if they get broken when removing the factory mud flaps? I'm replacing mine with Huskies, and have been told to expect a few of the plastic fasteners to break in the process.

I just did the fronts on mine today with modified Weathertech and broke 5 out of 6. Before hand I purchased these from clipsandfasteners, the dimensions are on the web page in the link.

The Husky and Weathertech are both too hard and short for my use. And I really like DoorDing's Plasticolor ones, they are about perfect. With the exception of this:

I could see that being an issue with as much snow as I experience, plus didn't like the idea of snow & salt building up and packing in there. So I picked up a pair of Weathertech on sale and got the dealer that I purchased my ARE MX topper to throw a pair of the Plasticolor in for free when I got the cap. Cut the Weathertech down and also the rubber\fiberglass flaps then used plastic rivets to fasten them together to hopefully get the best of both.

Seem pretty solid and look good, see how they hold up over the winter.

You guys shortening the fronts. If they are cut too short I expect they will be ineffective and may as well not have them. How much can you take off and still have a useful mud flap?

Yeah that is my concern, with the Weathertech they have the convex surface area which lengthens the distance between where I had to cut them. The OEM I could come down only 2 inches and have more of the flexibility but I wanted to keep them intact until I test them. Maybe too many years of having a back out plan, Disaster Recovery and high availability but I wanted to test them first. Thanks BTW!

Was supposed to get wax based undercoating on Tuesday but the installer called in sick with the flu. Today it broke freezing so crawled underneath and sprayed 4 cans of the Canadian Snake oil. I was surprised at how much composite and plastic there was. Also at how hard it was to hit the top of the cross members and several other places. Will do a comparison test of FF and 3K with a control soon and post results.

Once again I agree with DoorDing. I travel a lot on limestone gravel roads which is soft. The BFG AT KO tires hold and throw rocks terribly and the distance from the inside radius to the bottom of the OEM flap is 12". I would not go below that if you do any gravel roads. If you do might want to herc\LineX your rockers which I am not a big fan of.
