I left the rear muds on and thought about leasing the front ones out for advertising but decided to take them off. Better then the broken look like many others.

IMO, I would highly suggest taking them off before they leave a scar. I've got four scars now because I waited too long. Take them off (the mud flaps that is). :D

I kept mind on for now but i realize whenever I try to cross over something as high as a Footpath, front mud flaps get caught which is really annoying. The factory flaps are really low.

I had a 02 Tacoma and the flaps were short on it...... I like the 2 gens flaps alot better. They keep 99% of the dirt and sand off the sides of the truck. I'll keep em on!! :p

The stock front ones hang so low I scrape them on speed bumps. I am going to take a roto zip or dremel with cutting blade to them this weekend. I'm thinking 2 inches should alleviate the scraping.

I got tired of putting them back on after the trail took them off a few times so they're sitting in the garage corner collecting dust.

Lost track many, many mods ago.
Used to have them off but then go tired of having all the mud and dirt and dust go up in my fender wells and back of the bumper and it threw too much mud and too many rocks up on my paint. I put the back ones back on and man, what a difference!

I was working on the woodlot last summer and tore the front driver's side on off. Snapped like a gingerbread cookie!!!!! I went to Princess Auto and bought two truck mudflps. I have finished constructing two very respectable front mud flaps for my Tacoma for the grand sum $11.30. Toyota wanted $339.00. I will do the back ones tomorrow and save another $339. If anyone is keeping count in Canadian dollars a full set of flaps are $678. I've bought whole vehicles for less than that. I will sell my remaining three OEM's on Kijiji or E Bay and pay for the running boards I bought the other night. Shame on you Akio Toyoda; President and Director, Toyota Motor Corporation. Apparently you think nobody will be able to manufacture something as simple as a mud flap.

Mudflaps are a double edged sword. I leave them on and wheel in the rocks and they get torn to pieces or torn off and lost on the trail.

Leave them off and drive fast on dirt gravel roads and my rock sliders get rock blasted.

If I could keep the mud guards in a box, and put them on / take them off super quick then that would be the best of both worlds.

It's really bugging me because I have to paint my sliders at least once month now. :annoyed:

I am in need of a right rear one (4x4) if someone wants to donate that one to me.
