Picked up a new 2024 and it didn't come with mud flap. I am on gravel roads and getting tired of the rocks coming off the tires hitting the truck. Would be good with factory. Best place to order from?

I have the factory flaps and drive gravel roads. They are better than nothing but barely. I still get pelted with rocks. The best option for total protection will be the ones linked below but they are not out yet.

WeatherTech has signup reminder for their mudguards. I didn’t want the OEM mudguards on mine, but now I’m glad, better than nothing for my usage. All of our local roads are being chipsealed, and my paint is not getting damaged… Probably because I drive at a sensible speed.

I drive very slow on the actual gravel roads. I think most of my damage occurs when I get on the highway and rocks wedged in the tread sling out at highway speeds.

Didn't mean to insinuate you don't drive sensibly/slow on gravel. Having said that, I JUST experienced that highway flinging. Normally take slower backroads home after the new chipseal, but this morning the 55mph route was taken. Ping, ting, thunk. And of course hoping nearby cars didn't get rocked like my other car did from vehicle going opposite way at much slower speeds.
    TL;DR can't wait for WeatherTech's larger/better mudflaps!

I'm taking my mudflaps off before I break them. I know I'll backup on a tree stump, rock or snow bank at some point and break them.

I really wish they would go back to the flexible rubber flaps from the 80s. With the big "4x4" in white lettering.

Wondering why those fell out of favor.

You can still buy them, although they are probably stiff plastic now.

I'd wait on the WeathTech. I've had good luck with them.

As long as they're not too pricey.

    To that, I would add:
    • manual locking hubs
    • floor mounted transfer case shifter
    • a hand brake
    • front door vent windows

Ah yes, the good old side vent. Haven't thought of them in years.

Hand brake was great for emergencies & easier to grab onto. Much better than the pedal. :)

What are you talking about, they are floppy plastic/rubber compared to last generation… don’t think they will break… they dont, however, do much for chip prevention living on dirt roads…

The OEM’s do very little to protect your rockers/rear flares, better than nothing, but barely. I’m on gravel regularly and it shows unfortunately. As soon as a decent aftermarket is available, I will be rid of them!

It will be easy to spot this body style in a few years. All the rear quarter panels in front of the rear tires will be rashed and exposed metal. This is after a single gravel road trip.IMG_6836.jpg

Maybe full length side steps (not predator) adjusted to the lateral side in conjunction with mudlflaps would reduce that. If you travel gravel all the time.

Does anyone have the oem part numbers for the set. Mine also didn’t come with them as an option. The option has them listed at 60.00 for the set

Ark told me that I could request that the bend be not put in the flap. I don’t care for the gap where the flap passes over the flare onto the body of the truck. That needs to be filled IMHO.
