When installing my factory mud guards a couple of the inserts seem stripped. The screw pulled down but just rotated when bottomed out. Guards are secure however. Can the insert be removed by just pulling on it with needle nosed pliars? I mean if it was the vertical screws ( mine were) on front wheel well, you could loosen the black over fender and pull back 1/2" to be able to pull ( or push from back side) the insert thru the hole.

    It's designed this way.

Imagine hitting something with the mud guard, instead of pulling on your fender, it is designed to rip right off. That's why they use those plastic inserts)
