mudflap line-yet again

I know most of you won't give a rats butt about this, but some I guess will.
This has bugged me since I lifted the truck, plus I also used it below the door seals for added protection.
I wrote about this before and tried it out, if you are interested in any of this tape, (it is pin-strip tape) and your ride is silver and want to try it out give me a yell and I will send you enough to do front, back or both.
I have enough to do around 25 trucks, plus I am going to keep some extra.

What kind of tape is it? I like that idea.

 

it is 3M tape, about and inch wide. After I did the door seal I used the back of the tape as a template, to trace for the flap area.
Once installed I pulled the clear protective coating off the tape, I was surprised how it blended well. TRUE you can see it, but heck it does not look hit and miss with the ond line.
Clean in my book.

 

Bro send some my way! Is this tape anything like the silver vinyl sticker I use on my headlights? If so, I've got some of that. But never thought of doing that. SWEET! I hate that wear spot. Something so simple and yet it hasn't been fixed since the truck came out in 2005. WTH?

 

Have not seen the pic's of the headlights, (any pic's here?) but I don't believe so. I have had this tape for some time now, safety stored away.

These vinyl stickers! You think they are similar? I've got a little of this left. Never did I think about cutting them into strips and using them for that purpose. I'll totally send you an email in a few. Thanks bro.

BTW, what does your line, "Sabot up" refer to.

I'm thinking two things immediately, either a tank's sabot round, or a shotgun sabot round.

I have a Benelli M4 which shoots the latter, I want to bust door hinges and locks down with. he he he.

Do you think the black line could be eliminated by rubbing compound?

 

maybe and maybe not, the tape I have like stated before is 1" wide. I do know that once you pull the backing off and place it, it has another protective film on the outer side you remove.
After installation, I put a coat of wax over the area (plus a little more) and it seemed to fade away.
Give what you have a shot, if it works SUPER if not I still have this here.

 

As for the Sabot term it refers to a tank round. After the call for a certain round my loader would say "Sabot Up", and or "Heat Up".

As for the tape, it is coming your way and I will mail it out tomorrow. Would you like enough for front, back or both?

 

Forgot to add this, I tried to use rubbing compund and a number of other products. Problem was/is in areas where the clear coat was messed up, no issue worked most of it out.
But the other areas, the flap went all the way thru to the actual flare material which is a blackish color.

 

Got the package I sent you back, stating "undeliverable". My guess it is the mail carrier. I check the address and everything is correct.
