Had put some on when I got the truck but ended up taking them off, like other people say “looks cleaner”. Now I have a set of oem mud guards I’m never going to use again and they are still good.

I think they look better. My truck didn't come with them, but I had to add them and a set of step bars once I got my 17x9 wheels. They sling everything on the side of my truck, so I needed more protection.

I really like how it looks without the mudflaps. The only reason im keeping mine, is for paint protection. Toyotas paint is so thin and soft nowdays.

I removed mudflaps on my previous truck, ford and had no issues with the paint.

when I offroad, I take them off because they get caught on everything, but I put them on as soon as I get home. I hate assholes that don't have them and proceed to throw rocks at my truck. Also the thin paint too...

Don’t like the way they look, but a dirty truck without flaps looks worse

Yosemite Sam be damned, flaps look like shit.
Running -12 offset wheels, my paint pays the price EVERY time my gravel-grabbing-Grapplers hit a fire road..

I love the look of the mud on my truck. I've never had mudflaps on any of my 4x4 vehicles.

You need fender flares, not mud flaps. If the tire/wheel combo on your truck keeps the tires inside the fenders mud flaps are just in the way and don't do anything. If your tires are outside the fenders mud flaps still don't do anything to help.

They are mostly for decoration on pickups. On big trucks with no fenders yes, on pickups they are useless.

I've been driving for over 40 years, my Tacoma is the only truck that ever had them and I'd never seen them on any other truck until 10-15 years ago. And only on Toyota and Nissan at that, well over 95% of the trucks on the road do not have them and I've never once had any rock damage to my trucks. With rocks coming from my truck or anyone else.

I've been driving for a little more than half that and I've probably gotten a dozen noteworthy dings and broken windshields. Certainly not enough to see if JCWhitney is carrying a 3rd gen Tacoma 'car bra'.

It's a dangerous world we live in, and there's little rocks out there....

I don't like the OEM mudguards but they get the job done so I'm keeping mine on for now

Truck does look better without them but I was cringing everytime rocks were kicking up on my new paint. When I get a few more dings on the truck and dont care as much I'll probably take them off.
