+1 for RokBlokz - flexible so they won't break, and way more functional than OEM. I went with the standard size and just mounted them more outward. You can see there is a SHIT TON of heavy, wet mud coating the flaps, which would have been all over the side of the truck if they hadn't been there. I know some people like that mud-covered look, but it's not for me.

Ran with no mudflaps for the first few months I got the truck and then one day took a trail with a buddy and as soon as we got back on the pavement I started kicking up rocks and ended up cracking his windshield. Felt like total dog shit and ended up putting RekGens on after that and haven’t had any problems with them ever since

I read somewhere - here or Reddit I'm sure - that they had ONE person with a TRD exhaust complain about a little discoloration, hence the disclaimer.

    Love your username, btw.

The "good citizen" angle for flaps is something too few people care about. Help the rest of us out by running flaps!

+1 on these. They are super flexible too so they bend and flex without getting ripped off. Comes with stainless hardware so no rust, too. Worth the price.
A lot of rally drivers use em

What's all this rust people are talking about preventing with mud flaps?

Rekgens. For the basic facts that they'll flex over objects and you'll hurl rocks at your rocker panels without SOMETHING there. Well, hurl less rocks, one still sneaks through every once in a while.

also the type of terrain you wheel on will depend if you get rocks kicked up everywhere

Thanks for all the replies - I will be wheeling this truck, mildly, mostly desert. I like the Rokblokz and the RekGens as they seem to be made of more flexible material and probably more forgiving off-road. Will probably get a set of one of those...

I do prefer the look of the truck without mudguards, but know from other big-tire trucks, rocks will get kicked up after getting stuck in All-terrain style tire treads. Not so much if you have an aggressive M&S tire.

    Cheers.

    oem's do help

the other brands tend to sail or flex at high speeds and better if hits an obstacle off road it flexes , the oems wont flex but might block more

and the 2nd gen oem steps offer more protection

OEM mudguards are amazing at protecting your paint, don't know why anyone would not have them.
